Look at those cute cheeks!

Gosh I love Paris at night...especially shots like the last one that are just a normal street without anything famous in them. It is just so Paris though...the trash can, looks like a greek sandwich place, barriers to stop people from parking on the sidewalk...ahh... :)

@PutYourFlareOn : yes the place on the first picture is pretty beautiful but it is not at my home ... it is a bedroom in my girlfriend grand mother's home. But my home is cool too (closer from Paris :)).

@sarahwoo : it is not a greek sandwich place but a jewish one ("rue des rosiers"). Your right, street in Paris are great.

@sandrapi/cherria : yes my daughter is beautilful ... but I am the father so I am not sure my opinion is "valid" :)

omg, this pic reminds me of the first time I ever saw virtual reality machines.... you hardly see them around anymore!

As for the apple iphone, it's actually a cell phone, ipod and sort of palm all in one!! Talk about revolutionary!!!

013 : 13. January 2007. Saint Mandé, France.

Today I mainly stay at home ... even if this morning I have gought a car (my first car in fact ... before that I still use one the cars of my parents .. yes I am 31). I really have the car next Friday ... so I think you can guess what will be my post for 19 January 2007 :)

My bookshelves :
- at the top : old books I read when I was between 14 and 20. A lot of "Stephen King". H.P. Lovecraft. Jack Vance (the tetralogy entitled Tschai, Planet of Adventure .... "cycle de tschaï" in French). And a bit of heroïc fantasy (Terry Brooks, Robin Hobb, Weis & Hickman).

- Then the scifi/heroïc fantasy level with : Michaël Moorcock (Elric, Hawkmoon, Corum, Erekose), Dragonlance (behind other boos), Walter Jon Williams, William Gibson, Norman Spinrad, Bruce Sterling, Neal Stephenson, Isaac Asimov.

- Then Maurice G. Dantec (a French author I like in few year ago, now it seems it is a bit crazy so his last books are too hard for me), J.G. Ballard (I rediscover Ballard two years ago and I think it is one of the best author I ever read). One James Ellroy "big" book.

- Then Viriginie Despentes (I know her since a long time, never read before 2006 ... I really like the two books I have read). Michel Houellebecq (I fact I do not really like). Some Philip K. Dick books. Spinard and Ballard once again. Bret Easton Ellis (very funny ... no sure it is the good word :)). And my new "period" ... japanese authors : Hitonari Tsuji, Isdhi Ira, Kazushige Abe ("Projection Privé" ... Indibijuaru Purojekushon .. I recommand it), Haruki Murakami ... and the best one (for now) Ryû Murakami (all what I read is great).

sarahwoo 11 years ago
Yay! Another menilmontant picture...really cool. Just a few notes about the english (tell me if you are not interested...). "Bring" definitely works for a person. Another more natural expression is, "drop off" Mathilde at the babysitters. As far as the walking to work, it will sound better to say: Then I went walked to my office or then I went to my office on foot.

Your bookshelf is very organized! I am impressed!

@sarawoo : thanks for you comments about my english ... my english is not very good ... my french to in fact :) I succeed to write some technical things in english but for every day speaking/writing I have some problems :) but I am to lazy to improve my english (even if I know it can be a good for me and me at my job).
sarahwoo 11 years ago
Hey...don't worry about your english. It is much better than many of my students. I am used to hearing poorly spoken english all the time, and like I said, yours isnt so bad. It doesn't even phase me anymore...although I am becoming quite familiar with the common mistakes made by French people.

But, don't worry, I am not correcting your english while I read your comments. It was only because you made a comment about it....:)

Pourquoi une mauvaise idée ? C'etait si mauvais que ça ?

Yoann's Day
smithbob 11 years ago
