01 january Let the New Day Begin

010107

This is almost how I should have looked on January 1st, except that I normally wear pijamas on that day. I like to get up late, have lunch with my parents and spent the evening watching tv. This year it was different. I got up and took a bath, then went with my bf to buy toys. The streets were really really crowded and we walked a lot. At the very end of the day I finally sat and watched tv.

02 january Falling Sky

020107

Not a good day, early in the morning I had a little argument which turned out ok but got me down. In the evening I was at my house preparing to go out when I looked out my bedroom window, there were some weird but pretty clouds and the sky had an orange hue so I thought to check out the living room window and this is what I found.

Oh yes, and late at night I had another little problem that didn't turn out ok so as I said in the beginning it wasn't a good day, but at least the sky was pretty.

Still have to catch up since I just posted the second day

03 january Sleep

030107

I'm mostly a night person, as far as I can remember I have trouble going to bed early -and as a result waking up early is a nightmare to me. I try and try but to me the night is a great moment to be awake whether is reading, watching tv or surfing the web. The last month of this past year I was slowly going back to my old sleeping habits: going to bed at dawn, waking up to have breakfast after a couple of hours of sleep, returning to bed 'till noon, staying up really late day after day. This was not much of a problem for me being unemployed but since I'm planning on getting a new job soon I'm making an effort to change those habits. So far I'm starting to feel sleepy at 4:00 am.

I can't go to sleep before 2am, used be later but I'm older now and have a 2 year old kid who wears me out when I get home from work. Definitely think whoever had the original idea of a work day being 9am 5pm should be hung, drawn and quartered...bet he/she was one of those busy bee type people always buzzing before the sun rises and in bed by 10pm.

04 january Shadow of a Doubt

040107

Still not feeling really well but I decided to go out for a walk. I went to a museum just to find out it was really late so they were closing soon, still the guard let me in for the last minutes. After that I went to the Palacio of Bellas Artes -beautiful place, I should take a pic of that- and walked and took pics. After that I crossed the street to the bookstore. I saw lots of books I'd like to buy *sigh*. I found a couple of low price books but I ended up buying a book I already had but was lend and never got it back. I took the metro back but decided to go visit my bf and here's where my sorrows begin -a little bit of drama ;).

I got out of the subway and decided to walk the 20-25 blocks, so far so good. When it was time to go back home since it was still early I decided to walk the same 20-25 blocks and a little bit more, so I walked and walked and passed the point where I could confortably take the bus back home. At some point I stopped because I felt my feet hurt and suddenly realized the boots I was wearing are cute and kinda comfy but not for long walks so I took the bus home.

It's funny that I took lots of pics at the museums and the street and decided this was the shot of the day because I'm feeling a little bit full of mixed emotions and lots of thoughts...

05 january These Boots are Made for Walking

050107

January 4th ended up with some blisters in my feet and a really sore toe but after a night of rest I felt better -although I must admit I was still walking a little funny in the morning.

However I decided to go for a walk again so I got out of the metro and walked to visit my bf, and since I was wearing this oh, so comfortable boots -look like sneakers but I swear they're boots- I walked back a little bit further without any harm on my feet.

That was suppossed to be the main story for this day, so I got home and took the shoes pic and while I was uploading it to my comp I started thinking how very different my clothes are now.

In my teen years I used to dress in jeans and boots and sneakers but when I got my first job I knew what it was to dress entirely as I wish, no more mom saying: "no, I'm not paying for that, instead buy this one" so I ended up dressing all -and I really mean ALL- in black. Yep, those where blissful days filled with black velvet and blue hair.

Then I got out of college and got into a new job in a very very conservative company so I had to let all that go and dress "normally". Dressed in suits and without weird color hair I was stilll being asked if I was goth.

Anyway, last march I quitted that job -and got into a new one that didn't last but I'd rather forget that place- so last year was a lazy year for me -I think it has been my more useless year since I was born but tell no one about it- so my dress style changed again.

Now I very very rarely wear a suit or anything corporate looking, instead I dress in jeans and boots -loooove boots- and t-shirts. What was a little weird for me was that I thought that once free from the obligation of dressing "nice" I'd go back to my velvety-black past but no, I dress in color and the only clothes I use from back then are a couple of velvet jackets that I adore, but still the old long lacy antique looking black dresses are hanging in my closet because I really don't have the heart to let them go, maybe one of these days...

It's a fun fake. How is it faked? Is it actually drawn on you or was it editted on afterwards or can you just summon up red lines all over your skin at will?

08 january Going Nowhere

080107

Monday didn't turn out quite as I hoped, am I silly to keep on hoping?

Anyway, I took a night walk and decided it was time to post more outdoors pics so I took this one on a bridge crossing the longest avenue in the world -as I read the other day. You can see the red back lights of the cars going north and the white ones of the cars going south, there's the metrobus station and between that and the north lanes, the subway tracks. This was todays choice because I felt like I'm just watching life go by.

Oh, and when I got home I realized I walked for 2 and a half hours, no wonder my legs felt a little weak that night.

hervcha: I'm a little behind my posting that's why you see that date, once I catch up we'll be in the same planet ;)

sunshinecity: thanks! the funny thing is the background and the blanket are the same color but the light I used gave it that hue, and I will be ok :D

09 january Darkness and Hope

There are days where I just wonder if I should just give up all hope, normally I would have, but not tonight, not while I have at least a tiny light...

Better to light one little candle than to curse the darkness (I am not sure where this quote comes from but it rings true in every case). Was it a scented one ??

Collard: it certainly fits well and it is scented but I can't quite say what the scent is, spicy vanilla maybe?

Well, I really wanted to leave you a sweet message here, about hope and life, and such things... And it just doesn't come out right.
But the thoughts are here.

Re: the photo from Jan. 7th. Brava! This is beautiful. I love the light and the softness and the grain. As for the rest of it, I think many of us have probably felt as you do. I know I have. So I will send you some good vibes. :-)

Had a little computer problem, that's why I haven't been around this past two days

LadyBadTiming: I won't :) and this daily pic discipline is proving to be very positive indeed.

Philippe: Thank you! they say that the intention is what matters so this is a great message

overge: thanks! it feels good to know I'm not alone

Didier: don't worry about being late, glad to see you over here and thanks!

Alison: I'm glad you like it and thank you very much for the good vibes

10 january Restless

100107

Feeling better although a little bit tired. When I'm feeling that way the best thing to do is to stay in bed reading a book but since I have lots of things going on in my mind I can't really concentrate so the next best thing is to stay in bed with one of those logic games magazines.

I bought this one the other day and solved a game here and there, now it's all done, no more games left, still some thoughts dancing around but at least I forgot about my worries for some time...

...bad thing? I didn't do any of the errands and chores I had to :P

And that Batman came from a grid with numbers :) And the flowers are the print from the quilt in my bed.

Thanks Heida! although I must admit they look way better in the pic
