Flash back to 2006:
+at the start of the year, back from the holidays and i've never felt so down with no job (quit before the holidays) and virtually no money.
+march - graduated with a b.soc.sci in criminology
+april - full-time job in business
+june - finally moved into my own apartment
+september - started another degree in terrorism and arabic language (not sure if i'll continue with the language)
+meanwhile bf and i still going strong after almost 3 years
+finally happy and content, less guilt and less worry and most importantly, loved and healthy.

I hope it continues to 2007.

Happy New Year to everyone.

savouring the last of my holiday. had a walk at night and took this of one of our neighbours backyards. their house is open to everyone, people can donate and they're aiming for $10,000 to donate to the hospital.

first day at work after 10 days off. the days went by so quick. fortunately, because i was so busy with work today, the day went by quickly too.

pic above is a late christmas present from my friend's mom, a lovely silk scarf with flowers and butterflies. i'm wearing it today and it feels so good. also had a lovely thai dinner with bf.

03.01.2007 - Wednesday

black day for me today. at 3am in the morning, a very negative person has entered my life with very negative and cruel thoughts via the phone (by sms). i knew it wouldn't take long for that person to take me down again. had a sleepless night and i'm still feeling it today. i'll try and stay upbeat and learn to ignore these kinds of people. people whose main purpose in life is to make everyone feel as bitter and as down as they are. *sigh*

Dear Jelenie, So sorry to hear that someone has managed to get you down. Wish I knew something great and profound to say, that would make everything better. The only thing that springs to mind, is that just now you are doing something very postive and fantastic - you are taking part in a project with several people around the world - a project that not many people have a character, patient, or the will to stick to. And that says something about you - and about what sort of a sharing and caring person you are.

Anyways - I hope something will happen that will make your day pan out better.

I'm with Sam on this.

People... can be rough sometimes. You can't let them get you down. Find ways to avoid them and if that's not possible, find ways to make what they do into a joke. It's hard to take someone seriously if you can't stop thinking of them wearing clown make-up.

=) This is a year for happier things.

Uh, sorry to hear about that Wednesday.
If you can, ignore that person. They usually give up after a while when they don't see that their effort has success.

Oh, I miss sushi :)
How as Blood Diamond? (Ah, scratch that question, found the answer :)

And I feel you pain with the phone calls. I worked in a Hotel for 13 years. Most of that time at the reception. Not a call center, but a constantly ringing phone :/ (Besides clients right in front of you as well....)

05.01.2007 - Friday

as Sontra said... average days are good for everyone.

this is pretty much an average day. there's still no one in the office, all my friends are on holiday and the phones are still driving me crazy.

my bf went to the office to have lunch with me (chicken kebab for lunch... yum!) so that was really nice, to have a little break.

finished work around 5:20 today, i'm always so tired after work, maybe i should be taking vitamins? i just take a shower then go straight to bed and have a little nap. but i always feel tired after my nap anyway so i try not to do it all the time. mark cooked some teriyaki chicken for dinner. we were planning on getting a movie tonight to watch but decided against it at the end.

so i just watched the rest of charmed season 5 and read some more. i'm just glad it's friday!

06.01.2007 - Saturday

yay! Saturday. Ever since working 9-6 everyday, i really couldn't wait for Saturdays to come and I try to do different things on my saturday.

for breakfast, we cooked some pancakes with maple syrup and blueberries.

pic above is of my bf resting on the park after having lunch. we went to the city first to get some book shopping done, we received some vouchers for christmas so i got 3 books for myself (blind assasssin by margaret atwood, shalimar the clown by salman rushdie and perfume by patrick suskind) for free! then we took the bus to paddington markets to have lunch (steak burgers with cheese and fresh lemonade with chocolate covered strawberries for dessert).

then we went to my bf's place to have dinner. we rented freedomland on dvd which turned out to be quite a disappointment. but al in all, a very good saturday.

I still like to make phone calls to friends and family, but I hardly use it on other occasions any more.
Due to being away that long from all people we mainly use Internet as communication now. When somebody tells me about skype, etc. it's like "talking?" - "who? me?" No way ;)
Weird :)
I actually love to talk. Mh, maybe it DOES have something to do with my former job ;)

08.01.2007 - Monday

Soooo tired and this is my half-ass attempt at a photo but I DID IT!!

After months of researching gyms (i hate contracts) and procrastinating, I FINALLY JOINED ONE. Hurrah!!

Oh my god! I'm so unfit. I had my fitness assessment done and even though I got top scores for being ultra maxi flexible, I was dying when I had to go on the bike for 10 minutes to measure my heart rate and oxygen intake. it was like the longest 10 minutes of my life. but my trainer's pretty cool. and even though it's a unisex gym, it's not really very busy.

i can't wait to start the classes but they're so inconvenient at the moment since i'm at work from 8:30 to 5:30 most days. and i hate going to gym in the mornings.

but I'm glad I finally took that first step. :-D

ebilflindas says:

Two of those class names really popped out for me. "Bodyattack" and "Crank". The former doesn't sound like fun, unless you're allowed to hit back; the latter sounds like a class for learning how to cook dirty meth in an old toilet. I'd start with that, and then go to Bodyattack. The pounds will melt away! ;)

alone... alone at last. my bf went back to the academy yesterday and this is my first saturday in ages without him. usually we would have some sort of couple activity going on but now, i'm just ALONE.

i did all the washing, some light cleaning, etc and ventured to the city by myself.

bought some japanese lunch (only my favorite ever), got the latest marie claire and sat in the park for ages just chilling out. no deadlines, no one waiting for me at home, nothing i have to do and see. and boy it felt good.

had a healthy dinner - tuna with some boiled veggies.

and watched grey's anatomy ALL night. oh my god! how good is that show? bugger that season 1 only had 9 episodes.

i was going to do a yoga class today but i'm not comfortable to take a shower in the gym so i just went for a 40 min. walk in the morning around the neighborhood.

i met my friend (photo) in the city today, we had lunch at pancakes at the rocks, went to the contemporary museum (so we could rant on all the contemporary "art" and i'm saying art very lightly here - please don't get me started), i perved on some lomos (i will eventually get one someday, they're so pretty) and had some copenhagen ice cream (there goes the diet). then we hung out at borders and read some magazines before watching the pursuit of happiness (i didn't cry).
