A beautiful definition of the jealousy in a really good novel...
Jealousy ...

Very Nice! I don't know what it says but looks very appealing, and I'm loving the DOF.

Hi,first of all thank you for your comments. I give a translation of the phrase I wanted to underline in the book, hoping that I do not alterate it to much. Wish you have a good day :)

"I wildly pursued the shade of her infidelity; but the aroma that I tracked was so thin that it was practically not distinguishable from the chimera of an insane man."

@philippe-> hope to see this topic soon ;) This book is really excellent although sometime a little bit morally disturbing. Probably see you tonight @LaPoudrière.

You French people.... not only do you have this secret language flowing through this fantastic group - but you guys seem to be meeting every other night to...
me have to go to France to meet French Flickr F**kers ;-)

I think the text about jealousy here above has just gotten to me.

By the way, Solaris... strange one isn't it. Never really sure where to put it in my mind... good---bad seen it few times though.

Yep, nice definition...and it looks like I do like the author's style!
I have to read that book one day...and about morality...I don't think he can be worse than Sade, can he??!
;)

elBidule PRO Posted 11 years ago. Edited by elBidule (member) 11 years ago
@Samrag: Yep, I think is really strange at least THIS interpretation of the novel, because I didn't see yet the version made by A. Tarkovski. But the novel is a little bit more intelligible and contains a lot more of details "forgotten" in the Soderbergh's adaptation. And yes, I like this description of what is jealousy.
@Maïa* : I'm pretty sure Nabokov would have won the "descritpion of a sexual act without hard words and with incorporating a citation" you're talking about on your lemondedemaia ("Project 30" isn't it?), this novel is a 500 pages book full of that kind of phrase. Concerning, Sade's writings I only read its Ernestine which is not really showing moral deviance but I will soon fix this lack.
Have a good day.

PS: that was nice to meet you guys yesterday ;)

...frustration?

if i were gonna photograph a headache this would be <ideal ...it's so bright ... *very* bright. the kind of bright that makes your eyes squint and the bridge of your nose scrunch. and there you are holding your head in your hands smothering the pressure ot it all...

ah well. i'm fanciful. just pardon me to hell and back
elBidule PRO Posted 11 years ago. Edited by elBidule (member) 11 years ago
Thanks Maïa for your compliment. Seeing your question and glory defined's remark about the seventh pic, it's maybe not really bright (the meaning of the pic I mean ;) And yep you're right glory now I can't look at my picture without imaging it as a bad advertising for pills against headhache :'(
Anyway :) I wanted to show somebody in distress (is it the good word for détresse??) unable to think good because of all that kind of "white noise" (the big brightness) you got in your head under stress...
The next portrait will be better ;)

I started this 8th day of January by waking up a little bit late, having no train, I had to take a new breath by (re)starting to read this book of one of my favourite writer...
A strange guideline for a life

edit: the original title is "Erections, ejaculations, exhibitions and general tales of ordinary madness". A really rude vocabulary for a rude life making Hank an unusual philosoph of life.

I wasn't able to give any answer to that question right after the end of the movie because of many little things I didn't like, as some dialogs looking like matrix' verbal diarrhoea in the white room :). But since then I just realize that I like the beautiful story, the subject and pictures.
In some aspects it sounds a little bit like Solaris.

Having lunch with a friend of mine in a place I really like because it's cheap and delicious and... it belongs to my personal history. This place is named "La muraille du Phoenix" and i located Rue St Jacques, 5.79 euros for a soja salad with chicken, beef w/onions and white rice, lychees. The boss is really sympathic.
Okay and the lunch was really cool, we both realized that the other one was in a mood as bad the other one... enjoy :)

Too early ... or too late??

Finally went to Les Divans du Monde around 3 in the morning, had a beer (not too much expansive - good suprise ;) danced a little bit on a really good and not usual sound... Met funny people... Then walked to Sevres-Babylone station to go to work. I finally felt asleep in front of my computer... I woke up one of my best friends at 7.30 a.m. to ask him to let me his sofa... re (:p) woke up @ 11.50 a.m. and so won't be able to go to cinema. I led him go to work and took my feet around 12.30 to UGC Cine Cite les Halles eating sandwiches while walking. I met two really cool people in the street at 15 minutes from each other and finally got to the cinema. Fur, an imaginary portrait of Diane Arbus was a really good movie, I went there without any pre-maid idea, and liked the photo, the story, the soundtracks and the feelings it gave to me...
