This picture is taken on the flight from East Midlands to Dinard. So I guess it should be France.

Summer memories

Today is another day off for me so I'm all in washing and cleaning. I found some photos on the shelf - summer ones. Probably it's a sign.

It seems strange but living here, in England, I don't miss home so much as I did in Russia. It feels so easy here. The only thing I need is to hear the voices of my best friends from time to time.

Samrag says:

Maybe it has something to do with the country... Not sure myself - In Manchester, England or Melbourne, Australia I didn't miss home that much (only occationally) - but in Germany I really really felt homesick.

Here is airside of another sleepy airport for you. This time it's Murcia.
MJV
And you can find lights of Murcia here.

Life is getting funnier and funnier.
Why do people keep thinking I'm Swede? I don't know Swedish and unfortunately had no chanse to go to Sweden yet. Today two swedes thought I was their compatriot and started talking to me in their language - I felt so embarrased I could answer them nothing. We'd finished talking in Finnish (though my spoken Finnish is minimum). Then English lady asked me where I come from - she couldn't hear any accent in my speech (I miss my Estonian accent already though I'm proud not to have it) so she desided to find out my origin. Then German guy got interested if I was Nordic and Spanish lady was surprised that "Sweds can speak Spanish". -_-
It's hard to be Estonian :)

8.jan: Isn't something just sooo spooky about empty airports. Used to do exessive travelling for few years, and it always gave me the creeps to spend some hours during the middle of the night at airports. Not to mention how boring, and impossible to sleep, it all was!!!!
What do you do to pass the time....or do you always get a hotel room straight away?

It's not your fault, Sam. :) It's just me - I posted the pick for today a bit earlier.

I guess airports seem spooky and boring to the passengers (when I was a passenger I hated coming to the airports at night to check in for some early morning flight). As for me, I'm on the other side now, so airport is kind of home (Home's never boring!) and I can have fun passengers never able to.
I always end my day (or night) in EastMids Airport, which is my base. So I simply go home - no need in hotel rooms.

re: Monday, January 8

I'm glad you're enjoying your dream

re: Tuesday, January 9

Photographing photos is not cheating! I just showed you my 2006. I used to be a model most of the time and now kinda miss that role. Oh! How I wish my photographer were here!

Lots of passengers take pictures when they are out of the plane and that slow everything down (which is not good) but I do can understand all of them - airside is beautiful.

Haha! Funny! I felt a bit of it as well. It was so warm, so nice in Murcia and the palm trees made me feel it was a beach not airport.

I wish it were vice versa. Your sun shine could desease our weather.

sky #2
The wrong day.
Not bad, but definetely not right.
I was on airport standby which mean I supposed to come to work at 5am and have a nice sleep in a crew room, drink coffee with pilots preparing to their shifts and chat to other cabin crew as they arrive and then to go home at 1pm and do my own business I have to do.
Everything started early in the morning.
I woke up at 3:30 to take the 4:40 bus, had my coffee, got prepared (still unaware about the weather), opend the door and... it was raining heavily outside ("haha! I love rain" I thought). I opened my umbrella and walked to the bus stop (2 minutes from my door). By the time I got there the umbrella was broken by the wind ("whatever" i thought "i never liked it and wanted to buy new one anyway").
The bus was on time (strange!) and get me and Kerry (the collegue I met on the bus stop) to the airport very fast. We head our way to the crew room, almost blown up by the wind and soaked to bones.
"I'm happy I don't fly today" told I to Kerry. "Yep, lucky you!" she answered. And we sat to wait for her crew.
Apparently a new boy didn't appear so Kerry phoned to crew control and they phoned me and I had to go with Kerry and the team. -_-
The weather was bad in Poland, stormy in France so all the flights were bumpy especially on landings ant takings off. And we were late all day because of the weather.
When we landed in our base airport (the last flight) we had to wait for the back steps quite a long time but they never appeared. So all the passengers disembarked through the forward door.
When we got out of the aircraft we saw that the airport is owerflooded with different airctafts as many of English airports had been closed due to bad weather. All the terminal was full with people whose flights were diverted as well as the bus stop. And getting onto the bus took us 15 minutes (usually 1 is enough).
I missed the appointment with a hairdresser. -_- I guess it's just the sign I should grow my hair long.

Now I feel tired and sleepy.

The mountains are beautiful. The clouds pretty like white, creamy cotton.

With all the different places you are, some street self-portrait stories would be cool... use a self-timer and make up a little story. Include signs in different languages, interesting local landmarks.... if what you are experiencing eer seems mundane... make it not so in your mind! :)

I think your favorite photographer needs to chill! :) You are doing cool stuff!

I love the variety you have so far. Your self portraits are really cool and my faves of the bunch!

Just saw the dates you wrote (in Kanji or chinese?) .. 日本語を話すか?

All flights were late from CDG ... luckily didn't meet any mad passengers today... :)
Do you only do mid-haul flights?

Thank you!

The landings were not actually bad themselves. It just felt like you are on a rollercoaster on descending.

I still love my job. :) And the day was not bad - it was just different. :) But I enjoyed the flights anyway.
Good luck with your job search! I'll be happy if you become my collegue.

:)
Yep, that guy flighs with us quite often. Do you know him?

Thanks!
The only places I see are airports. And you get them all. We have no time to go into the cities as we do only quick return flights. :) Wait till I have annual leave... :)
My favourite photographer is the best. She's making such a beautiful pictures of me.. I'm in love with her camera and all selfportraits I do is the test squirts for our future works. If she tells me to wait, I wait :) There will be definetely quite a lot of my selfportaits here ayway.
