Today, my fiance and I went around town but forgot our camera. He had to change his American Dollars in for Euros at the bank.
It wasn't the ideal time to be selling Dollars!!!!

let there be house

On thursday I organised an event at a local bar in my neighbourhood.
My fiance is a House DJ. So we set up the turntables with another DJ and invited a whole bunch of people. The night turned out pretty well!
(Of course... this is the same night that my camera was later dropped... infact I was only able to take a few pictures).

Hopefully I will return to taking pictures soon... meantime, I'll try and steal afew shots of my Dad's camera... shhh....!!!!!

Please please steal your dad's camera few minutes at least a day - or take photos with your phone (if you have such tool).... Just carry on......... because your are being watched ;-)

Sam (2007 in Iceland)

...and get the person to buy you a knew camera - fixed tool, is never as good as new tool.... broken once, easily breakes again....
Then ones you have the new camera, fix the old one, and you will have two ;-)

Yeah... I'd like to, but I feel bad ya know?? I know he offered, infact the next day he emailed me to ask the model and make of my camera...
See I'm hoping it's nothing tat serious. He dropped it while the retractable zoom was out, so it bent slightly and now wont go back in and the ;ense is exposed, as if the camera was always "on" but It won't take pictures, and it turns itself off in "picture" mode. I can view the pcitures taken so far though, infact I was able to upload the latest ones to my computer, and to flickr.
As you can see though, no pcitures yesterday... I am very upset!! I bought it in the US... they don't have this model here in Italy!!!

yeah exactly, it's a nebuliser, which works with compressed air, except you can use it for any breathing ailment. In this case there was medicine to ease my cough... doctor's orders!
I used to hate using this contraption as a kid... it would be so noisy and would take for ever for the medicine to finish... maybe the neweer machine we have now is super turbo GT model or something... it's pretty fast... or maybe I've just grown up and become a bit more patient!

January 7th 2007

Today I spent pretty much all day lounging on the couch. I guess you could pretty much call me a couch potatoe... it seems fit!

I sometimes wonder on the miracles of technology. Some people say this is a magic wand...

magic wand

do you agree? Magic wand or not, I like my comforts, and not having to get up off the couch to change channels seems pretty magical to me!!
Remember when these things didn't exist yet??
They make jokes about wives punishing husbands by taking the remote control to the store with them....

i remember the first remote i ever saw - at my stepdad's - it could only change the channels - two buttons - one up and one down - and you really had to push hard - it made a big click - funny people still call them clickers but they dont click anymore - zapper is another name but my favourite is when people call it "the machine"

Our magic wand doesn't work since one year. The replacement we bought doesn't cooperate, the instructions are in Hungarian and we gave up a while ago. Now it's mainly three channels, we watch ;)

@ bunaen: correct, the name is Alex (short for alexandra)... I look forward to seeing you here often then ; )

@ jonathan: yeah zapper is a common word for it now, as is zapping through tv channels.... sometimes when there isn't much on, that's your only form of entertainment!

@ jelenie: I used to be a bed potatoe until the tv in my room broke! It broke over a year ago, but for some reason it's stoll sitting there... maybe it's about time I threw it out!

@ nicole: omg, your magic wand is broken??? How can you survive without one!! We are creatures of comfort and luxury!! Your UNlazyness is admirable!

@ wespionage: sometimes there are more remotes than you know what to do with!! We have three at home... but have now managed to get to using only one, which operates the tv and the satellite receiver.

As for my cough... I think I'ìm doomed to have it for like... the nebuliser doesn't seem to be doing much! Maybe I need a cough wand!

My Dad has at least 6 remotes!!! I've given up changing the channels or doing what ever when I'm visiting - I just ask him.
My mum regularly goes through them pushing all the buttons, while trying to either find a channel or change the volume - and while doing so changes all the settings and stuff... lol

We call a remote 'pultas' in Lithuania. Im sure it's some slang thing from old Soviet Union times. There must be some better word created by linguists, but I dont know it. I... have no clue what that machine is.

Do feel better, though!

Nebuliser.

It sounds like a Star Trek word.

"Quick! Engage the Nebuliser! I've got a cooooouugh."

re: Sunday, January 7

I think I hate television.

I love television programs. But I certainly hate the box itself. Sucks away life.

Then again, my life is spent in front of this computer box.

re: Monday, January 8

Mmm. New monitors are real purdy.

Yay for the new screen! When I got my 21 inch screen, it changed everything for me. I used to work on a laptop. I much prefer a desktop computer.

I"m always on skype, I love it! Can talk with anyone, anywhere for free!!

Still got the cough... hope that clears up soon!

January 9th 2007 - day 9

I had a whole bunch of thigns planned to do today. I was supposed to go to the bank, I had to call the Canon Service regrarding my camera and possibly take it, I was gonig to go to the doctor to see about saying good bye to my beloved cough.
Unfortunately I did none of the above....

The culprit of my slack:

my latest addiction

i'm ashamed... but I'm addicted!

I've never tried skype, but might sooner or later have to :)

I never got the hang for Sims either. I'm more the role-playing action game type ;)
And that for hours :)

is just a friend and is living with his girlfriend LOL
You're bit suspicious aren't you?? ; )

... you should try Sims 2 sometime, it's as close to actually being a person as can be, so much more than roleplaying I think!

... you hear that? Apparently you and I got something on the side!! Hahahaha...

... thanks! It's comforting to know I'm not the only slacker! But just to set things straight, I actually got 1 of my 3 errands done today!! LOL

.... yeah, tomorrow and the day after too... still stuff I need to do!

SamRag came by to you!

I've never tried the Sims - but SimCity (all versions) have stolen from me many days, if not weeks.... Waiting for new release before I'll allow it to steal more from me.
