Group DescriptionThe Esk Valley Trust cares for the beauty, history and character of the valleys of the South and North Esk and of the continuation as the River Esk to the Musselburgh estuary.
EVT is holding its third photographic competition and would like to invite you to submit suitable photographs capturing the beauty and diversity of the Valley from its source in the Pentland Hills (North Esk) and the Moorfoot Hills (South Esk) to the mouth of the River Esk on the Firth of Forth.
The theme is intended to be a broad one, highlighting the scenery and the wildlife to be found in the area. We are also interested in the history reflected in the towns and villages along the length of the valley and the historical buildings and industrial heritage of the area. We would like to know where each photograph was taken so that people can visit the site should they wish to do so.
Much information about the valley can be found on the website eskvalleytrust.org and we would encourage you to use the site for inspiration and to identify the many areas of natural beauty to be found on your doorstep.
There is no restriction on the number of photographs you can submit. Ultimately we would like to make a calendar so we are looking for all the seasons to be captured.
Prizes. There will be a prize of £100 for the top photograph with prizes of £75 and £25 for the second and third photographs. These will be presented at the Esk Valley Trust Annual General Meeting in Dalkeith on Tuesday 2nd May 2017.
The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers alike of all ages.
All photographs must be submitted digitally and uploaded onto the Esk Valley Trust Flickr gallery via our website home page (Eskvalleytrust.org). Please submit as Jpegs, with a size less than 10 Mb and at least 800 pixels along longest side. Under the heading Add a description prefaced with PC2 followed by your name, location of the photograph, and the date it was taken.
