I'm thinking that late August or early September might be a good time for another meetup. One idea I have is for a Friday night (if we go in August) is to Chanticleer Garden in Wayne, PA. This is the only night they are open until 8:00, so the light is a little better.

I'm open to other ideas, or waiting until early September. What do you think?

UPDATE: 8/17 - It seems some people are able to make 8/29 at Chanticleer Gardens in the evening. Chanticleer closes at 8:00 so I was thinking of meeting at 5:30. Please post, if you haven't, and let us know if you can make it. Here is a link to Chanticleer Garden website:

Here is their comments on photography (copied from the website):
Photography: Wedding / Family photography by professional photographers is not allowed in the garden.

We ask garden photographers to sign a Photography Guidelines and Tripod Use form which can be accessed below or given to you upon arrival at the Entrance Desk.

Photography Guidelines and Tripod Form

Leave the garden as you found it

I have hear that place is really of a problem with photographers. We better check with them, before moving forward the meet-up..

Morris Arboretum is very-photog-friendly. They are open late on Thursday evenings. Lots of flowers for macro and a train garden for movement. Check it out:

I've never had a problem at Chanticleer with photography. You have to sign a tripod form saying you're not taking pictures professionally, pretty standard and similar to Longwood Gardens. I can make 8/29.

Unless the sky falls in at work on the 29th, I should be able to get away in time to meet at 5:30 on the 29th. Count me in.

We were planning to go to Chanticleer Garden THIS Friday 8/29 from 5:30-8:00. I know only a few may be able to make it, but wanted to make sure who's coming. We'll meet at the admission table.

So far, it seems we have MariaIPA, Pshorten, nils9three, and JoJoBurke. magazione was a maybe.

Please let me know definitely if you are able to make it to Chanticleer at 5:30 on this Friday, 8/29.

Thanks,
Jim

I will probably arrive some time before 5:30 and enjoy a sandwich in the gardens. I will wonder up to the entrance at that time to meet everyone but let me know if you are coming earlier and want to meet up.

I have never experienced any problems with photography in the gardens even when arriving with a rather large camera bag. The tripod form looks pretty standard.

Hmmm... Its been raining here (Exton) for the last couple hours, but weather.com shows only a 20% chance of rain from 4-8pm and mostly to partly cloudy. I'm still going to Chanticleer in hopes it stops by our meet up time of 5:30.

It was a pleasure meeting you Jim and Nils.

Jim, et al.
Sorry I did not make it to the meet up. The rain and an overdue report kept me away. Hope you all had the opportunity to get some great shots; and I look forward to seeing them posted here.

The weather may not have been great, and the group was small (3 of us), but it looks like we got some good shots, had fun, and met new people. I look forward to the next meetup for the group.
