I am fiening to shoot some waterfalls. I haven't been to any in about 2 years, in the blueridge mountains in VA.

So, I have new tires of my jeep, ( just put on saturday as a matter of fact, thats the only reason I decided to make a trip to jim thorpe ), gas is "cheap", and the leaves are changing. Who's up for a real road trip.

Google says it's about 2.5hrs away, which probably means 2hrs if you push it.

Unless anybody has some better suggestions for some closer waterfalls?
I'm guessing here- but isn't Bushkill closer?

yes, but you have to pay to see bushkill. And bushkill is played out anyway :)

I agree about Bushkill falls being overdone and over-commercialized, but they do have nice waterfalls. I know there are more falls in the Poconos, particularly in Delaware Water Gap. You might want to try to find another Pennsylvania or Poconos group where someone might have more info on where to go.

Welp, Rickets Glenn looks like a pretty good score, thats why I mentioned it. From wikipedia ::

The park also contains the Glens Natural Area, a National Natural Landmark; the Falls Trail passes 24 named waterfalls, the highest being 94-foot (28.6 m) Ganoga Falls.

Anyways, I'm a junkie for that kinda stuff, so if anybody wants to ride along, you're welcome to. Otherwise, it's just me, my tripod, and my book of CD's

Count me, and my tripod and book of CDs, along.

I've been to Bushkill enough times. A good friend of mine lives down the road from the Falls. I need new falls!!
