Obviously, it would be best to organize the upcoming months’ Hosts as far in advance as possible. Instructions for setting up this flickr group, together with an on-going list of Hosts in advance can be added to, copied and pasted, month-to-month, so everyone is informed at all times.
DUE TO THE FACT that a person who volunteers to be the Host of this group, usually is by that time, familiar with the general “Blythe-A-Day” flickr group “procedures”, how things work, etc. ... This topic will be brief:
ON-GOING HOST SIGN-UP:
If you are interested in Hosting a month, and you notice there is no name next to it ("available") ... meaning no one has volunteered to be the Host as yet, then please feel free to volunteer!!
If a request to Host comes in during the month where YOU are the "Host/ Administrator" .... go ahead and add that person’s name on this master list IMMEDIATELY.
As the “Hosting/ Administrator” position is an on-going “open invite” ... no need to “wait around” for “ONE Main Administrator”, since this group changes so much from month to month, and it really is not that difficult to ASK PERMISSION from THAT MONTH’S HOST if you are so interested ... and that Host will add you to “The Master Host List”.
If “BETTY” is the “Host/Administrator” for January 2015, and “SELENA” sees that no one has volunteered for the month of July 2015, “SELENA” would contact “BETTY” with her desire to be added to the list.
And since "SELENA" is the first one to request July 2015 month, “BETTY” would then immediately add her name to THIS MASTER LIST, for the month of July 2015.
Part of volunteering to be the “Host” for this group, is to be able to participate every day, and be able to be in the position to check any incoming messages or inquiries and to be able to check this "Discussion" section contained in this flickr group during YOUR month. Normally, a “Host” would not volunteer if they do not, or can not plan to participate in the daily maintenance of this flickr group, but should this happen, there is always the option of adding a "Co-Administrator" should un-forseen events occur where you find that you need assistance.
Bottom Line: There should be SOMEONE available at all times ... to answer inquiries; to monitor entries; to accept "Host requests" for the upcoming months ... all to ensure that things do not "fall through the cracks", which can result in misunderstandings, hurt feelings, confusion, and even more than one group running at the same time, due to mis-communication.
So, since “BETTY” being THE HOST for HER MONTH ... has RECEIVED "SELENA'S" REQUEST immediately, and has then added “SELENA” to the list IMMEDIATELY, there should be no “question” as to “who will be next month’s host??”, there should be NO waiting period or people waiting around for some sort of "approval" ... because this will be an on-going maintenance procedure that the “HOST FOR THE MONTH” who has volunteered to do so, will just automatically take care of ANY incoming requests that occur DURING THAT MONTH.
IF "BETTY" receives a "request to Host" AFTER her own month has ended, then she NEEDS TO FORWARD that request, AND refer that "future Host" person to the CURRENT MONTH'S HOST ... as "BETTY'S" duty to add volunteers to the "Master List of Hosts" has ended, and any assigning of Hosts is under the jurisdiction of the CURRENT MONTH HOST.
