Group DescriptionThis Group, is all about the Vossloh Class 68 mixed-traffic diesel-electric locomotive. The locomotive is derived from the Vossloh Eurolight, and 15 have been created for Direct Rail Services, for use on intermodal and passenger work. DRS, have taken an option of a further 10 locomotives, to be produced in the future, if all goes well with the first batch of locomotives.
DRS, has sub-leased 6 of their locomotives, to Chiltern Railways. These locomotives, have a two-tone silver/grey livery, and have yet to be named. These are to be used on passenger services between London and Birmingham, to replace the Class 67 locomotives, currently working the services.
This Group, is to have quality photos of this new Class of locomotive, to showcase Direct Rail Services commitment to the British railways.
Group RulesThe group rules, are that the photo's posted on this group's pages, are just of class 68 locomotives, and not any other kind of locomotive.
Any photo's, other than class 68's, will be removed from the group's pages. If anyone continues to post other classes, then they will be asked to leave the group.
These rules have came into place, because there have been a few people, posting photo's of locomotive, on the page's. There are other group's, to post photo's of all other classes of locomotives.
I hope you all understand, and continue to enjoy the group. Thank you for your time, ....And your photo's!!
