Group Description"Being overweight was never really a problem for me. Ever since childhood I was always the thin guy in the bunch. During my service in the US Army I did bulk up carrying everything I needed and some for others in my platoon to help navigate the jungles of Viet Nam.
My real problem was after I reached my mid 60’s I found that my endurance level for exercising wasn’t where I thought it was. My mind thought I could do everything I did when I was younger but I soon realized that I was wrong.
About this time my wife, Sandy, began to change the things we were eating at meals to healthier selections because she wanted to lose weight. So I realized that getting back into better shape, even though I am still somewhat slim, seemed the right choice to add to our eating healthier.
Improving my fitness and then in turn improving my shape has been a real eye opener. Starting at a basic level (surely I was in the advanced section) changed everything by simplifying what exercise I began and what I advanced to.
