Since we are all field herpers, tell us who you are and what your main interests are! Do you prefer certain herring methods over others? What's your most memorable moment in the field?

I'll start off. I'm Alex and I'm 16 years old. I live here in NY (ugh) and herp on Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and the Catskills. My most memorable moment in the field? I have so many, and each time i find a new lifer it becomes a new favorite. My favorite methods for herping is plain ol' fashioned tin flipping and hiking. i like the challenge of potentially finding your target only after flipping hundreds of rocks all day or walking up mountains for hours. I do enjoy road cruising though because its an adrenaline rush, getting all excited about seeing what pops into your headlights around the next turn!

Hello Alex and everyone here at Field Herping USA. My name is Dave. I am 47 years young and am the very proud father of a beautiful 9 year old named Jessica Kate. She often enters the field with me - especially when we walk the rocky shoreline of Kentucky Lake. I am a field biologist and love to write about and photograph wildlife, especially reptiles and amphibians. My most memorable experience? Too many I think to account; Probably finding something rare - like an Alligator Snapping Turtle or Scarlet King in Kentucky.
