Hello swappers!

Thank you for signing up for the Liberty of London Bloomsbury swap! We are swapping 56 5x10" squares of fabric, 28 from each of two different prints, which we've all chosen and listed in the group to avoid duplications www.flickr.com/groups/2066124@N24/discuss/72157631583942448/

I have contacted Brenda at Pink Castle Fabrics. If you have not ordered your fabric yet, please let me know, and we will each be able to place an order that will be sent to me for cutting and return.

If you're having the fabric sent directly to me from a shop, please see below the sign-off about shipping! If you're having it sent to Megan (hehehe922), please follow her instructions to avoid needing to send paypal to both of us!

Our deadline is truly 'as soon as possible' - not in the rush sense, but in the "this super-popular fabric is backordered, as soon as it arrives, please cut it and send to me!" sense! If your order is delayed in any way, please contact me and let me know what's going on. I know we are all very excited to get these fabrics!

Please mail them to me at the address I am sending you via FlickrMail.

When you are ready to cut into your fabric, make sure that you iron it first. You will cut 4 strips, WOF (width of fabric) that are 10 inches wide, using a rotary cutter and plastic rulers. Sub-cut each strip into 8 blocks that measure 5x10 inches. This will produce 28 squares. (You can, of course, reverse this and cut 8 5" strips that you cut into 4 10" segments, too.)

It would help me a GREAT deal if you sort the fabric in your stack as every other print. If you are signed up for 2 spots, put all 4 fabrics together in each stack. It helps me a ton if you off-set the layers, thanks.

If it helps (it probably will) to fold your stack in half to get it in the envelope, feel free to do so. Place your fabric in a plastic zip-lock type bag to prevent the fabric from getting dirty or damaged while being sent in the mail. Please include a card that has your address, email address, phone number, and flickr name. This information is not only for me, but for the postal service, if your envelope should get damaged along the way.

While this is a 2-yard swap and postage *can* be less than the cost of the $5.15 flat rate cardboard, or $5.30 flat rate bubble envelope, I really prefer to use the flat rate. Between you needing to buy an envelope, and then worrying about putting enough postage on in case the postal service gets persnickety, flat rate (with their free envelope!) often ends up being the same price, and it's an easier, faster way to go.

So please include a self-addressed FLAT-RATE envelope for domestic swappers. There is a bubble version that can be mailed for $5.30. Be sure to put STAMPS in the amount of 5.30 on the outside of your envelope. Make SURE that this is NOT a metered mail stamp that has a date printed on it. Regular (old-school) stamps are the way to go here as the post office will not send out envelopes that show a past date on it.

Once I receive all fabrics, I will get all of the envelopes mailed out the very next day. (unless it's Sunday) :)

If you have any questions, I am available via FlickrMail. It gets sent to my email and phone, so I can usually reply quickly.

Thank you!

~Kate

If you're sending the fabric directly to me from a vendor, you may be wondering about getting that return envelope taken care of!

The easiest way for me is to have you paypal me the $5.30 for the bubble envelope to the email address I'm sending via FlickrMail - Please use the "personal/other" option, since this is to reimburse me for postage, not to pay for an item. If you're using something other than cash-funded paypal, please pay the fee. I'm not making money on this, but I also don't want to lose money sending the packages back out! The cool thing about this method is you'll automatically have a delivery confirmation number for your return package, too!

In the notes section on paypal, please include your flickr ID, your shipping address, and which fabrics you've chosen. (I'll try to get any overage back to you!) Please also FlickrMail or email me that you've done so, with all the same information. (I believe in lots of backup!)

If you don't have PayPal, please contact me, and let me know that you're sending me an empty, stamped, return envelope.

Thanks!

~Kate

How many people are having their fabric shipped to hehehe922 and the group admin (Kate, kejreeves)? Since there isn't any deadline I'd kind of like some way of figuring out how long we'll be waiting before we get back everything?
fordcowgirl_85 6 years ago
Mine were picked up by Megan and are being shipped with the others she picked up :)

I just "spoke" with Brenda at Pink Castle today. Their orders are coming in throughout this month, so we're trying to coordinate what we still need and when it'll show up. :-)

EEK! I accidentally cut into two of the blocks! I have always worried that this would happen eventually. I have contacted hehehe922 to see if she can pick up enough for two blocks for me, if not I will re-order and get them out as soon as I can. Sorry for the delay, ladies!
lindsey_stitches 6 years ago
Yay I'm glad it made it!
And I think swap hosts deserve goodies, I just finished up my own and sorting is some back breaking work!

UllaBee, oh that is a bummer! If hehehe922 can't get it, I'll ask Denise at Pink Castle for some.

Since we are waiting on the new shipments, it won't be a delay at all!

I received a few more packages, but I will wait till I'm working in my sewing space Monday to inventory and update the list. (Keeping these toddler and pet free is my aim!)

Mine should be there! Delivery Confirmation says it arrived yesterday! YAY!!!

She couldn't (completey understandable, she is doing a lot). So, can I get in on the Pink Chalk order? I won't need a full yard, only enough for 2 of the 5"x10" blocks, so whatever the minimum order is. Will we be buying individually, or sending you the money through paypal?

It is the Liberty Blue garnet

I received a *lot* of packages yesterday and today. I have a strict "no opening outside the sewing room at my mom's" rule (cats, dogs, toddler!) so I have the return labels to play a matching game with, but I won't have them fully recorded as received until Sunday. Thanks for your patience. :-)
