We will be swapping 28 5x10" "bricks" from the Liberty Lifestyles (quilting cotton) line Bloomsbury. One can achieve 28 bricks from a single yard, please choose two different fabrics in one yard lengths (some people buy 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 for "insurance").

There are 28 spaces total. You may have more than one spot, meaning you would buy 4 yards total and get duplicates of each fabric. I will share my mailing address via Flickr mail, and our deadline will be one month after the group is full.

We will be making sure there are NO DUPLICATES in the selections - there are 55 prints, and we all want to get all of them.

Please see this link for official color names and prints!

Question: will you be limiting which colorways with this swap so we end up with prints that coordinate or will it be anything as long as it is Bloomsbury?
admin
kejreeves Posted 6 years ago. Edited by kejreeves (admin) 6 years ago
There are 11 prints in each of the 5 colorways. We will be getting one of each, with a duplicate of one print, since there are 56 fabrics over 28 people.
theconfusedquilter 6 years ago
Personally, I'd like it if we chose colorways that worked together, for instance, I wouldn't necessarily put the brown color prints with the pale blue set, although I really love both sets. Shoot! I just really like all of it! I'll happily go along with whatever the group decides.
jkpwynn 6 years ago
I love them all, too.

I vote we get enough people (or sign up for 2 yds each) so we can get them ALL, lol.
theconfusedquilter 6 years ago
Hey, I'm with you, I wouldn't mind buying 2 yards.
Certified-Cute Posted 6 years ago. Edited by Certified-Cute (member) 6 years ago
Can I join? If so, can I get 2 spots or is it limited to 1 per person? Is it just Bloomsbury Gardens line or is there another they came out with?
admin
kejreeves 6 years ago
Certified-Cute, welcome! There is only one line right now, the bloomsbury Gardens. Their next line will first be seen next month at the quilt industry show (I forget the real name of the expo!)

You're, of course, welcome to 2 spots. I'm hoping that we'll be able to get enough people to do two 'groups' so that those who wish could get all 55 fabrics (with 56 spots, there would be one duplicate).

I haven't advertised this swap much beyond the fabric swap finder because we're still figuring things out. I'm really excited about these fabrics, and I know others are, too.
admin
kejreeves Posted 6 years ago. Edited by kejreeves (admin) 6 years ago
We are willing to do 2 yards of two different fabrics, then we could get all 55.
jkpwynn 6 years ago
I'm down for 2 yards to get the whole collection!

How would you make sure the two groups would be different fabrics, with no repeats from group one? Assign colorways?

Dictate us! lol
I would be down for two yards as well.
admin
kejreeves 6 years ago
Ok, I will dictate - we each choose 2 1-yard cuts, there will end up being one duplicate, since there are 55. We will have to post to make sure of which colorway and pattern everyone has!

I'll update the first post with the info!
Certified-Cute Posted 6 years ago. Edited by Certified-Cute (member) 6 years ago
Can there be a rule for no duplicates in fabric? So then we can get 1 of each print that is part of the Bloomsberry Garden line?

Glad to be part of the group :) I'd like to be able to get all of the prints too.

I posted the pictures of the fabrics that I purchased for this. I got all ones from the 'pastel' line.
jkpwynn 6 years ago
Yay!
emilyinez 6 years ago
This will be my very first 'swap' of any kind. I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to do, but I'm excited & you can count me in!
Certified-Cute Posted 6 years ago. Edited by Certified-Cute (member) 6 years ago
All you need to do is purchase 1yd of two different printed fabrics (so since I took 2 spots in the group I had to post/purchase 4 different prints from the line) from the Liberty of London Bloomsbury Gardens line and post pictures to the group flickr. Make sure you don't use a fabric that has already been posted so we can get every print in the line.

Once the group has filled you'll have 1 month to purchase the fabric, post it to the group, cut, and ship. When you ship the fabric you need to include a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope), I recommend using a priority flat rate envelope that can be supplied to you at your local post office for free. Then request/purchase a $5.15 stamp and put it on the priority envelope and fill out the to and from addressing it to yourself. REMEMBER do NOT put anything over the stamp once it has been put on the envelope. If you tape over or do anything to the stamp it is voided. (learned that the hard way >_>)

I will take 2 spots! you might want to edit this thread to only show what was decided. I was really confused when I got here and had to read the whole thread to figure it out. Also, a complete list of patterns marked off as they're taken would be really nice. I'd be happy to do it if you need help running this! So excited! Thanks for running this! Off to buy fabric!

lindsey_stitches Posted 6 years ago. Edited by lindsey_stitches (member) 6 years ago
I would love to join in with 2 slots (that is 4 different yards correct?)

If you are trying to get 1 yard of each print for the swap, why not assign each person a print. That way you can avoid duplication where it is not wanted.
bruinbr Posted 6 years ago. Edited by bruinbr (member) 6 years ago
I would love a spot please!

Here are my picks:

Pale Blue copeland by bruinbr
pale blue copeland

Pale Blue Virginia by bruinbr

Should we start a list of fabrics already selected??
I would love one spot please! I posted pictures of my two prints.

kejreeves 6 years ago
hehehe922 thanks for making this list!

CertifiedCute, yes, we want to avoid duplication so this list is a good thing.

I'd prefer to not assign since people often like to buy extra and when doing mail order there's sometimes a minimum cut. But toward the end I think we'll need to be careful, and we can see what's needed at that point.

Ok, going to go through and edit posts so that the "rules" are clear!

If they smell like vinegar its because thats the type of acid used to make the dye set....im kind of surprised if they really do the that though. Maybe it was the people/store you purchased from?

I ordered them from Sew Modern and they were wrapped up in a plastic bag locking it in. It was strong at first but not now.

I'm ready to ship anytime =)

I got an e-mail back from Brenda and she should have them in stock within the next few weeks! My recommendation would be to order from her and see if she'll ship them together directly to Kate. Would you be willing to cut them Kate? Brenda has great prices :) She'll probably let you preorder too.

Has daisey_clover confirmed her participation to the group? She appears to be the last person who hasn't picked out fabric which means she's left with 'Pale Blue Lytton' and 'Pastel Bell'.
admin
kejreeves Posted 6 years ago. Edited by kejreeves (admin) 6 years ago
Certified-Cute, I heard from daisey_clover via email that she will order from Pink Castle. I've asked her to check in here as well, of course.

I need to hear from everyone that has claimed a print but hasn't been able to order it so that I can let Brenda know what we need from her stock.

Thus far I know my choice of
Natural Brown Bell
plus
Pale Blue Lytton - daisey_clover
Pastel Bell - daisey_clover
Liberty Blue garnet - UlaBee (enough for 2 5x10 blocks)
(plus whatever "double" I will put in, our only duplicate - does anyone have one where they're just dying to have two bricks?)

locodowo - natural brown Copeland and Dorothy

Who else hasn't ordered and will be ordering from Pink Castle with me?

I've talked to Brenda about getting in on the next design line of fabrics, too, fyi. They'll be arts and crafts and Charles Rennie Macintosh inspired! Squee!
admin
hehehe922 6 years ago
Whoa....arts and crafts? I may need a few more spots :) Just an idea for next round....could we order everything from brenda and have her ship to one person? I bet if we ordered the whole line she might give us a discount on her already great prices! It would fall on one person to cut and ship everything, but it would save a ton of money. I'd be willing to do it depending on when it came out...next spring?
theconfusedquilter 6 years ago
Oh oh oh oh!! How exciting! Will you do this again for the next line? I'd love to be part of it if you do!
