I took a photo a day for 2006 and wanted to continue the challenge by taking a photo a day for 2007. Some dark winter days are tough but it is always a fun activity for me.

Somehow my Mother conned me into knitting sweaters for these creepy baby dolls. They will be given to children living in a local homeless shelter so I know that the knitting is for a good thing but I just can't get past that these dolls are so freaky. One of the Purly Girls actually asked me to put the doll away as it was scaring her! I hope these don't scare the children and I also hope I can get these darn sweaters to fit right!

I dropped my car off at the mechanics yesterday since my brake light was flashing. Turns out that I need new brakes and new tires! Yippee! I love spending money. So on Friday, my car gets new tires and on Monday it gets new brakes. Then on Tuesday, I'll be broke and eating noodles. So after finding this out and stopping by a few tire places for estimates, I headed over to Scott's place. He had been held up at work so Kato and I had some time together. That's when I got into Scott's action figures and started snapping pictures. Kato got into the act but I really think he was just hinting for a belly rub. He loves them so.

I called in sick on Friday. I've had a headache all week and a general run-down feeling. I took the day to re-coop my energy. I slept in late, drank coffee for hours and watched way too much Food Network. In the end, I'm glad I took the day off sick. I really needed some recovery time.

Sounds like you're feeling better. A walk outside can do wonders.

magpie33 -- My Mom keeps insisting that the dolls are not creepy but I just keep collecting evidence that THEY are CREEPY! I didn't notice the trio until you pointed it out but wow! You are right! The walk was quite nice. I am feeling much better.

RobW -- I love the comparison! Funny bit is I was knitting on the doll sweater while drinking that coffee.

Oh I'm sick and I do not do sick well. I get whiney and pathetic and remind people that I AM SICK! because I do not get SICK! I went to work today and on the way knew that I had made a poor decision. I should have stayed home. Luckily it was a calm day and I was finally able to finish up a boring task that needed to be done. It was just challenging enough to keep me awake but not so challenging that I needed to use any brain power. Perfect task for a day when one is SICK. Oh poor me :(

Last night Scott was due to have his fantastically great new bed delivered (really if you had seen his old one, you'd totally understand) but there was a hiccup in my perfect plan. The box spring would not fit up his staircase which meant that a split boxspring needed to be ordered, etc. Well that just did not fit into my perfect plan and sent me into a small tizzy. I told Scott that the only way I would recover was if I had ice cream. In between lauging at me, he was able to get me to Cold Stone Creamery for my ice cream. And you know what, it worked. The new boxspring will come soon and the bed will be perfect then. Geez! Sometimes I need to loosen up and not be so RIGID.

Such an uninspiring photo for the day. It was a bleak rainy day in the Northwest and I did manage to make it to the post office to pick up some Holiday Stamps. I selected the Holiday Knits version but I don't think they look very knit like. Oh well, as long as they get my holiday cards delivered safe and one time, that is what really matters.

I did however post my Self Portrait Tuesday shot and I'm really excited about it.

As I drove home tonight, I noticed that the buildings around Mercer Street are either very well kept up or completely abandoned. This one especially caught my eye and reminded me of the hot summer day where I was pretty sure the crazed man hefting an air conditioner on the sidewalk next to my car was going to throw that air conditioner through my window. Luckily the light changed in time and I zoomed off. This intersection is quite an interesting place.
