I took a photo a day for 2006 and wanted to continue the challenge by taking a photo a day for 2007. Some dark winter days are tough but it is always a fun activity for me.

My eye is hurting. I visited the eye doctor and he gave me some drops. It's feeling better now. It didn't hurt that I had a wonderful evening with a wondeful guy. He always makes me feel better.

I flew out from Sea Tac Airport to El Paso, Texas. People were lined up anxiously awaiting their boarding call. I love Southwest's prices but hate the "cattle call". It just makes everyone so frantic for a good seat.

Mot and I headed up to White Sands National Monument in New Mexico which is just acres of white gypsum sand. It's cool on the feet but lights a fire in a photographer's belly. I wanted to move in there and take photos all day.

On Saturday morning, Scott, my parents and I arose at 5 a.m. to head up to Vancouver Island for lunch at the Crow and Gate. It was delicious though an extremely long trip. We didn't get back home until Midnight! This shot is from the Ferry we took to get over to Vancouver Island.

ItinerArts -- Thank you! It was hard to get the spider in focus and this one is still a bit blurry but seeing a spider in such detail is pretty cool!

Well, be careful of getting your nose too close, even if it is behind a camera! I was photographing this green lynx very up close for a couple of days ( green lynx spider ) before I researched it and found out they don't make webs, they jump, and they have bites that are extremely painful and swell up ten times larger than the bite site! Between that and the black widow the next day, I had major scary spider nightmares two nights in a row, lol!

Scott and I walked over to Gorditos for dinner. I always forget how huge their burritos are and walk out feeling a bit ill. This time though I was able to stop eating before I got overly full and it was delicious. Our table pinata was named Pedro. I told him that I'd vote for him.

We drove down to Oregon City to visit Scott's family on Saturday. His niece agreed to pose for some pictures for me. She's very interested in photography and took some very interesting shots when I gave her my point and shoot camera (I get a bit too nervous when a 3-year-old is holding my Nikon D80 even when they are really really respectful of my stuff). I really want some fun rain boots like these.

I don't wanna know I don't wanna know I don't wanna know.!.. actually I did try to walk my cat once, but it was as something differentish to do on a first date with a guy who had a cat too. We failed miserably and his got away for a while.

This is what I love about Fremont. I love that when you are out walking to dinner, that you'll see hats on street signs and cool hats on street signs at that! I mean we also saw a guy wearing a full Cow costume, utters and all. You can't get any better than that! Fremont is weird and it makes me happy.

Sunshinecity -- Ha! I was trying so hard not to show TOO much of the full frontal below the neck which is why the book is there in the tub shot. Now as for the Damn Hell Bathroom, that curtain threw me a bit. I was a nervous that some kid would stick their head in at any moment to say hello.

Jallen -- Yep, I'm showing too much but next month the theme will change and that is good. I almost had to resort to a "toliet" shot! YIKES!

Gee, I've been missing since your padlock, up at the top of the page. Lots of beautiful pictures on the way down, fabulous shots from Texas and New Mexico, super aerial of the Grand canyon, couple of nice dogs and a cat and a spider, and a really beautiful sunflower. Wine and Jazz in El Paso looks like fun - is the wine local? And as wine buff, i really want to know what that wine was on Sept 11.

RobW -- The wine at the Jazz festival was sorta local. There was three wineries (two from Europe and one from El Paso). Now the wine on September 11th was the best ever! It was a Tapena Tempranillo. Delicious!

October 2, 2007 -- Self Portrait Tuesday (Food and Me)

This month at Self Portrait Tuesday, the theme is "Food & Me". I love my creamer in my morning coffee. I love it so much that when Scott made me my first cup of coffee and put my favorite creamer in it, I was hooked, completely hooked.

i miss knitting -- the round needle caught my eye. i have a skirt that i sort of abandoned because of my carpal tunnel.... it's a fabulous boucle, but 400 stitch rows is a daunting task and so it lays dormant..... a big fluffy collar of a thing.....

The power went out at work today when lightening hit a nearby transformer. It meant a long twirling walk down the stairs after a moment of confusion in the dark office. My co-worker and I joked about the killers who come once the power goes out because isn't that what happens in the movies? The upside was an early exit to the outside world and an opportunity to stop by a motel that will be quickly torn down to make room for more townhouses.

I wore these tights today just to make things fun. We had dinner with my family tonight at an Indian restaurant. It was delicious. I had wonderful chai and probably will lie awake tossing and turning but it will be worth it because the chai is that good.

Scott decided to clean out his closet today which meant that we needed to make a run to Goodwill (because if you don't do it immediately, the stuff takes hold again in your hour and never leaves!). Once there I snuck inside to see if they had any Polaroid cameras which they did, a Spectra which is different from my other one. I got film and already snapped a few shots.

After getting my new Polaroid Spectra on Sunday, I went to play with my older Kenneth Cole Reaction Polaroid and found it wasn't working. I decided that storing it in the car in October meant that the film became cold and un-useable. I headed over to Bartell's to get new film and test it out. It worked! Yippee! I still have two Polaroids and Scott -- they are different! They ARE!

It's been incredibly hectic at work lately and I just needed a break for me, some time alone. So I headed up to the Metropolitan Market, grabbed some sushi and knit a few rows in the car. I felt the stress melt away. It's amazing that sushi and knitting can do that for me.

The leaves are falling. The ground is wet. It's nearly winter around these parts. Today was Scott and I's six month anniversary. We celebrated by going to the Kingfish for dinner and having the most awesome meal. I think I've converted Scott into a Kingfish lover. Yum!

Scott sent me flowers on Thursday but unfortunately the flower company was a bit confused as to where my office is located so the flowers were delivered on Friday. Either way I was completely surprised and overwhelmed by how beautiful they were. I'm quite lucky.

These are the wedding favors from Lindz and Ian's wedding. I love that we got little lego couples. I swapped out my girl for Scott's girl so that my lego couple looked more like us. Because you know I often wear overalls and Scott is so into flannel.

Scott got an XBox360. I (heart) Halo 3. The only problem is when I play too much Halo 3, I get a bit car sick feeling and have to lay down. I'm powering through this though. I'm not taking it lying down!

It was a day filled with errands and other misc duties. It ended nicely with a fantastic beer discovered by Scott at this year's Octoberfest and delicious Chicken Enchiladas (made by me and they are so good that I can brag about them).

We headed out to the 2007 Zombie Walk which started at the Fremont Troll and wound its' way through Fremont. I'm so glad that we went out to watch the Zombies. This was so much fun!
