defining glory in 2007

drab chicken [deleted] says:

hello hello. meet glory:

poor glory has been defining herself on flickr conversationally since april of last year. without a camera. (poor me!) however ---and gents and dolls, this is a mighty great *however* --- a camera is almost within reach. we're talking two weeks tops, here.

YAY for that. YAY a HUNDRED MILLION TIMES. i am so freaking excited. wee!

so. it's a great time to begin a journal. this way i get to chronical my anticipation from the very beginning to its delightful finish -- complete with what i hope will be awe-inspiring digital images. i dearly love inspiring myself and i look so very cute with my jaw dropped open and my eyes all sparkling and everything. wait and see! xoxo

p.s. don't tell fred i showed you all his penis. it'd hurt his feelings

rainshowered
it's a rainy day but still pretty. no rainbows though, which is a pity for sure. i've never captured a picture of a rainbow. today has already been full and promises to be fuller still. my time is limited here just now, so i offer up a funny little moment that i don't want to forget later:

[scene: child number two is behaving like a complete heathen]
Ashley to her Grandma: are you mad at me?
Grandma: Nope. But ....you will be punished

[break in narrative: she's totally kidding here. you'd have to know my mom to fully comprehend how ridiculously silly she was being, to even *pretend* she'd draw a hard line]

Ashley: What's gonna happen?
Grandma: I'm feeding you to a bear
Ashley: WHAT?!?!?!
Grandma: Yep
[Ashley sorta thinks she's joking, but begins to cry anyway]
Grandma: Ohhhh, don't cry!
Ashley: *sniffs Why not?
Grandma: Because bears don't like sad food

hahahahahaha!!! i think i remember that line from my own childhood!
she denied it, but i swear! i think i remember! hahaha!!! i love you mama, you friggin nut

it's still raining. blargh. rain makes me feel nappy. i wanna cuddle

*collects children and dog for the ride home

our afternoon plans entail a picnic lunch on the livingroom floor, since it's RAINING again and our park plans are cancelled. (grumble) then... a movie and a game. hopefully a nap on my chaise with a child in my lap, a book in my hand, and a dog at my head is *also* in my immediate future. as to which child.. it all depends. they get cuddly at different times. so it's hard to say at this point.

p.s. rain rain go away

frame worthy
a buddy of mine printed some of my pictures out for me. i frame pictures for my mom every mother's day. only in recent years have i used my own photography. i'm no professional, but occasionally i produce something that'll fool a casual observer into *thinking* it was professionally taken. (haha!)

i've discarded these as mother's day ideas, though. i think i'll frame 3 for myself and just hand her the pic of myself, so she can leave it unframed on her mantel to get dusty until the end of time.

for the real gift.. i think i finally have an idea. i think i'll have my girls be barefoot in the grass, wearing jeans. i'm imagining flowers between their toes. i'm imagining a close up of bent knees and bare feet and flowers. something simple and pretty.

sara's good fortune
sara swiped a fortune cookie off the table this morning. i was still in the mood to take pictures and my cam was close at hand so i caught her in the act! it made me feel like an action photographer! CLICK CLICK CLICK. i'm pleased that she's won a chinese vacation, but i *do* feel a twinge of jealousy. ..it coulda been me

last night i took gads of photos of her as we played tug of war. she and i stayed up late together. up until that point we only had a few photos of her ---now we have lots! (soon to be uploaded.)

Яick Harris says:

Jack Russel Tug o' War (emphasis is on war). Betcha she loves that game.

Clara (my beloved pug), will play that game all day -- until distracted by food. She brings her tug toy to your feet and starts growling. Sure sign that the game has begun. You are obligated to play. Otherwise she will follow you around with her motor running.

Bella- that may be a rhetorical question , but there's still people confused about the weird switcheroo Flickr pulled on us with filters (which I am thankful for- I am all for personal accountability and filtering vs blanket filtering)..

You can find out if you are NIPSA by clicking on your username that shows up on the very top "Logged in as BellaGaia"

If it says "Your account as been reviewed as safe..." You're not NIPSA'd.

And your stream is far from uninteresting.. Explore is a weird thing it annoys the hell out of me to tell the truth.. LOL It's all voodoo- nothing to do with real art.

Actually, mine says i'm Safe AND NIPSA. There are probably a couple things I need to do to have them review my account. I have some mild nudity, that i might have to put in friends status and i have a few celebrity photos that I will probably have to delete for copyright reasons. best in the boquet
my dad's fiance turned 50 this past weekend. behold her flower! it was the very best one in the boquet. we attended the party. even ashley, who was feeling some better at that point. my dad is a lovable goober and i'm very very happy that

a) he's fallen in love with a good lady .. &
b) that she's his age.

don't get me wrong, i approve of age gaps in relationships. but i've had two step mothers younger than myself and fucking hell does that get old. once upon a time he had a fiance who was 23 to my 25 and she kept asking me to go clubbing. i gave her my sisters phone number. the two of them got high, drunk, and arrested so .. it was a big night. i just don't think such a thing will happen with our new stepmother and yay for that. plus the younger they are .. the more they wanna talk about sex. sex with my dad. ew. ew a hundred times.
