eelend's 2007

eelend PRO 8:11am, 2 January 2007
So here it is. 2007 has arrived and I feel it's going to be a good year for me. Better than 2006, at least.
I think I needed some kind of change, some kind of rebirth. I don't know if this new year will give me the change I need, but I think it's beautiful starting a year (365 days, wow!) and I'm excited.

I'm glad I spent Christmas with my family, and here they are. Only dad is missing, but well. Next year, we'll see him in this picture:

fri.

Aaaaannndddd... Friday again!!!!
I woke up late (9:30 :S) today and I decided to clean the house and wash some white clothes (most of my clothes are black; therefore, I must wash the white ones –not many– by hand).
I went to the post office to send a packet to my sister and I had to wait 45 minutes!!!!
Fantastic :(

Anyway. I came to work and started to organize the weekend. On Saturday, I'm going to have lunch with Rebeca and have dinner with Iván, Adriana (his sister, she's come to Madrid with her boyfriend) and Marta (I'm not pretty sure if she's coming, really).
On Sunday, I'm going to the Spain Kendo Championship –no one of my mates takes part in it, but we are going to see it anyway– and, after that, we all are going to David's home, to have lunch (you know, it'll be one of those lunchs that last forever, haha).

And tonight, when I get out of here, I'm going to have some drinks with some of the girls that I met in Málaga.

Yep, busy weekend again.
I love it.

Have a nice weekend you all, my sweets :)

March, 31
sat.

I slept 4 hours. When I got out from work, I met some of the girls I was with in Málaga and a pair of friends of them and we were dancing until 4 am. It was great and I had a fantastic time with them, but I had to wake up early on Saturday, so I felt sleepy all day :P Anyway, Saturday was also a good day.

I did some shopping (some things I needed for the house, some books, some DVDs) and I had lunch with my friend Mario –Rebeca couldn't come, at last–. I think I've talked about him before. He's a good friend of mine since we were children. He's a bus driver and lives in Pamplona, but he always calls me when he comes to Madrid. And so he did.
We spent the afternoon together, laughing and watching a film, and then he came back to his work (he had to take some people from the Bernabeu stadium to their hotel) and I went to have dinner with Adriana, Jaime, Iván, Adriana (this one is Iván's sister, who had come to Madrid to spend the weekend) and Raúl, her boyfriend –Marta didn't come, I don't know why. Maybe she couldn't.
After that, we went to the bar where Adriana (the first one. This is kind of confusing, isn't it?) works and we drank and danced until it closed, at 4 am.
It was great. We had a great time together, but I came home tired as ever, thinking that I had to wake up at 8 am on Sunday :P

3 hours of sleep and I felt like hell when I woke up this morning. But I did it. I woke up early and I went to the Spain Kendo Championship. The winner was one of the Castro brothers (the three of them practise kendo), as we thought it would be. They are soooooooo good. It's amazing seeing them fighting. I wish I could take some pics this morning, but their fights are so fast and so short, that I couldn't do it :(

When it ended, we went to David's and Montse's home, had lunch and spent a fantastic afternoon, laughing and playing with the wii (I discovered I'm good playing bowls, haha).

And then back home.
I must wake up at 5:30 am tomorrow :P so I think I'm going to have something for dinner right now and I'm going to fall down into my bed as soon as possible. I'm dead.

Have sweet dreams and a good week :)

PS. I almost forgot. This is the cover of the book that's been published with the poems we read in Málaga. If you look at it carefully, you could read my name (Izaskun Gracia) there :)

I slept like a baby last night :D at last!!
I had a nice day. I went to work –that wasn't so nice, though. I think I'm getting tired of this job. I'd like to quit, but I must find another job before, and it's very difficult. Anyway.

I had lunch with a friend and we went to the cinema. We saw "300" and I liked it. I read the comic book several years ago and I liked it a lot, and I didn't know what to expect from the film. But it's funny, amusing and full of semi-naked men :P Hahaha
Well, seriously, it's funny and it's visually amazing (did I say it right?).

Oh, and I discovered I recently bought a comic book I already had :P

Well, well, last day. After having not much fun at work (obviously), I went to Aída's place. Aída is a screenwriter and film director I met because my friend Jaime has worked with her a lot of times and they are good friends.
She's going to film a short and she wants me to take photographs of the shooting and to do the poster :D:D:D The meeting was ok and, after chating to her, I went to have dinner with Jaime, Adriana, Iván, Gonzalo and Fani to a wonderful Asian restaurant, called China Té.
And, after that, we went to have some beers to the Molly Malone. It was a great night –I really, dreeply love them all. We had a lot of fun until the pub was closed (3 am, more or less) and then we went home.

I was dead when I got into bed. But so happy.

Woke up at 6 am and caught the bus to Logroño. After almost 5 hours, mom and dad picked me up at the bus station and we went to Mues (the place where mom was born).
I was so glad I was there... I met my old friends, my family...

I took some photos of the procession (not many because it started raining) and, after having dinner, we went to Los Arcos (a village at 5 kilometres from Mues) and had some drinks.
Not a busy day, but nice :)

I took the camera and went for a walk with my cousin Itziar. We were talking, taking photographs... and everything was nice until my camera decided it didn't want to work anymore. Besides, the film got stuck and I lost all the photographs I had taken before.
But well, I thought "ok. These things happen. I need a new camera. Maybe this is a signal" and came back home.

After having dinner all together (29 people) and having some drinks, most of the people went home. But 15 of us kept on dancing and drinking until 7 am. Jeez... I don't know how, but we started to write nonsense on the others' skin. I thought I had 10 tatoos instead of 4 hahahahaha

Slept three hours and woke up with a terrible hangover (yes, yes, I know, too much beer). So I had a long shower, had breakfast and packed again.
I said goodbye to my friends and came back to Madrid (another 5 hours, jeez). At least, I'm glad because I was slept most of the time I was on the bus and I didn't realize how boring it really was.

I did the washing, hung it out, had dinner and pampered Shanghai, who's been alone these three days.

And went to bed, of course, because I was tired as ever.

I feel tired today.
I went to my photo class this morning and my teacher told me the shutter spring had broken and, oh, yes, I could send my camera to Nikon, but it'd take very long to fix it (two months, did he say? Anyway). So I thought I would fix it –of course–, but I also decided to buy a new one. It's something I've been thinking of for a very long time, and this breakdown just gave me the perfect excuse to do it. BUT (there is always one "but" around, sure) I think this ruins my plan of going abroad in summer :S
BUT –he– I'm not going to think about it. Summer is soooo far and I'm going to be sooooo happy with my new camera :)

I'm tired, BUT I'm fine.

we.

A friend(?) of mine called me three times today. I answered the phone the last one, just because I knew she'd call me again and again. I didn't feel very well doing that, but it's something I use to do when she calls me. And I hate it, because I do it only with her and I know it's wrong.

Have you ever meet a person that only calls you when she needs something? Or a person who talks to you just to tell you you don't have real problems and she's the only one that suffers under the sun (although she's ok now, because she knows how to do things right, not like the rest of the world; and oh, yes, men are horrible and women are victims and we have to fight against them)? Well, she is that kind of person.

There are some holidays in May and she wanted to know if I'd go to Bilbao or I'd stay in Madrid, because she wants to come and see the thousand of friends she has here –not me, them–. I won't be in Madrid (I really don't know what will I do and yes, I lied like a bitch, but I really don't want to see her again, it disturbs me so much) and I told her so.

And, oh, surprise!, she told me: "don't worry, maybe I can sleep at someone else's place and move to yours when you're back, because I want to stay in Madrid the whole week. I'll be fine, I don't mind if you have to work".
So, if she's not coming here to see me, if she doesn't mind what's happening in my life, if she has "someone else's place" to sleep... why the hell wants to come and mess up my life?
And why am I feeling bad when I think of it? I know I shouldn't mind, but I do :S

I feel angry. And ashamed that I am angry.

Oh, the girl from the pic is not her. This is Carmen, a wonderful person and poet I met in Málaga.

Last day of the week, but not a lazy one (as it should be).
Iratxe and me woke up late and had a looooooooong breakfast at a terrace near home. It was a sunny day and we decided to ask for two extra cups of coffee just to enjoy the morning.
But she had to come back to Bilbao, so I helped her to the bus station and saw her leaving :(

When I was back home, I did the things I had posponed during the weekend, this is: do the ironing, do the laundry, sew a pair of trousers... and I watched "Alpha Dog", which is a good film. I didn't know what to think about Justin Timberlake's work (I must admit I thought he'd be a horrible actor), but he really does a good work, and I found him credible.

And then, I had a beer with Jaime and Adriana, which was fantastic and full of laughs, as always :D:D:D

Strange day today.

I bought parmesan and provolone cheese for my friend Lidia. We're going to be together this weekend in Barcelona and we have this tradition: I buy cheese for her and she buys chocolate for me. Those are our biggest passions. When I first met her, she complaint because her husband tried to control how much cheese she ate (because, of course, she used to eat too much) and I told her Iván (he was my boyfriend then) and my friends used to do the same with me and chocolate. So we decided to do an exchange.
We meet every year at the International Comic Convention in Barcelona, and every year I give her cheese and she gives me dark chocolate :)
I love it.

When I got out of the cheese-shop, a woman asked me a question about it. We started talking and we discovered we both loved chocolate, so she talked to me about some places where I could have (maybe) the best chocolate of Madrid and I talked to her about a wonderful chocolate shop I know.
We kept on talking for about half an hour, which I find strange. Well, it's not something I use to do with strangers, but she was very nice and I was very comfortable with her.
I don't know if I'll ever see her again, but I think I will remember her for a long time :)

I visited Jaime and Adriana and my kendo mates. It seems some days are crowded, don't you think?

And I got bad news: my friend G's mother is very sick (cancer, jeez) and we don't know what is going to happen to her. He's shattered and, although he knows he has all our support and love, he doesn't want to talk to anybody. Well, I understand it. I don't know what would I do in this situation. But I'd like to embrace him and tell him everything's going to be allright, although it isn't.

we.

Meeting day, if I could say so.
After work, I had a coffee with one of my mother's cousins, Mari Flor. She also lives in Madrid (but she came here when she was 15, I think), but we don't use to meet because we live very far from each other and our schedules are crazy.
But we had to meet because she forgot a jacket in Mues and her sister asked me to give it to her. So there I went. We had a coffee at a sunny terrace and had a nice time together.

After that, I went home just in time to meet María. She comes home from time to time, we drink tea, eat cookies, smoke and talk and talk. And so we did :)
She had to go at 9, so I helped her to her car and I went to the bar where I had to meet Iván and Fernan. Fernan –Iván's cousin, by the way– is a great guy (he's so FANTASTIC!!!) from Bilbao, and we (Iván, Fernan, his wife and me) are very close.
He came to Madrid because of his job and called us :D:D So we had dinner at a fantastic Italian restaurant (I feel these last days like I've only eaten too much and slept not enough) and wowowowow what a great meal!!!
We ended up at my home, drinking more coffee and getting ourselves updated. When we realized, it was 2 am –and I had to wake up at 5:30!!!!!–, so I lent Fernan Futurama and Heroes and we said goodbye. The two boys went out and I jumped into my bed. Jeez...

–hey, but it was great :)–

This is Tamara, one of my photo classmates.

Busy day.
Busy –and, oh yes, boring– day at work, but I got out and bought my new camera :D:D:D:D a second-handed Nikon F100. And I LOVE IT!!!!!

And after that: packing, meeting my kendo mates and playing a bit with Shanghai, who's kind of sad these days (I think she KNOWS I'm going to be in Barcelona this weekend) :S

fri.

Hey, hey, hey, travelling day!!!! After work, I took the train to Barcelona. My friend Pere (-https://www.flickr.com/photos/eelend/212340895- oooh I love him so much; he's like my brother) picked me up at the station and we went to Terrassa, the city where he lives.

We had dinner, had some beers, said hello to old friends... until it was really late and we decided to go home and have some sleep.

sat.

The 25th International Comic Fair!!!!!!! After trying to wake Pere up for an hour, he finally got out of the bed when we should have been arriving to the Fair :S But well, although we arrived very late (I hate it, I use to be very punctual and I felt really bad), we were lucky. Some friends were already there, waiting for us, and they didn't take it the wrong way.
Lidia and me exchanged cheese, chocolate (mmmmmmm) and comicbooks and we got in.

Well, it was fantastic. There were lots of people dressed up as comic characters (I saw a ghostbuster, several (Gaiman's) Death, The Crow... and some Manga characters I didn't know), several places where kids –and those who weren't kids– could draw and read and talk to writers or illustrators...
I bought several comicbooks for me (not as many as I thought I'd do), some presents (books and figures) and some figures that my friends asked me to buy for them. I felt a bit like Mrs. Noel, hahahaha!

We were absolutely tired when we got out from the Fair (and it was just 6 pm), so we came back home and had some rest. Pere and me had dinner with his friends (so wonderful people) and, after that, the two of us went to a hip hop concert and we saw Tote King, one of the most famous Spanish rappers. I'm not the biggest hiphop fan, but I liked him very much.

And you can imagine the rest... some beers and back home. So good. The day was fantastic and I enjoyed Pere's company a lot. He's such a great guy.
