eelend's 2007

eelend PRO 8:11am, 2 January 2007
So here it is. 2007 has arrived and I feel it's going to be a good year for me. Better than 2006, at least.
I think I needed some kind of change, some kind of rebirth. I don't know if this new year will give me the change I need, but I think it's beautiful starting a year (365 days, wow!) and I'm excited.

I'm glad I spent Christmas with my family, and here they are. Only dad is missing, but well. Next year, we'll see him in this picture:

What a nice day. After work (not very much) and German class (it's been really interesting today, we talked about tales and legends), I went to see my kendo mates, because they were leaving to Valencia (there's a kendo competition this weekend).
I gave them a box of chocolates I bought in Bilbao and had a great time talking to them. They wanted to kidnap me and take me to Valencia, hahaha Ooooh but I envy them so much. I would like to go, too... but it can't be. I have to work, I have to help my friend Adriana on Saturday, because she's buying her wedding dress, and I have been two months without trainning :S
Anyway.

And now I'm listening to Rufus Wainwright and I'm thinking about reading a bit before going to bed :)

Goodnight to you all.

So boring day at the office. But so good in the afternoon, though :)
I met Rebeca at 4 pm and we had a coffee and a toast (mmmmmm) while we talked and talked for an hour, until she had to leave (she was going to Galicia with some friends, she's lucky!!!!).

Then I visited María, who's sick (she's got some allergies and she must stay some days at home, resting). I gave her a birthday present (a beautiful pendant Dad brought from Singapore. You are supposed to put a lock of someone you love in it, so that it protects his/her soul. I have one, too, and I do believe in it) and a box of chocolates, and we've been all afternoon talking about everything. "fixing the world", as we use to say :)

It was 10 pm when I got home. Dinner, some TV and a loving cat.
Great.

Mmmmm what a great day.
I was with my friend Adriana and her future mother-in-law, Rosana. Adri tried some wedding dresses on and, although all of them were fantastic, the last one was amazing!!! She was sooooo beautiful...
I wanted to take a picture, but it wasn't allowed (strange; I don't understand why). We'll have to wait :S

I met my friend Mario (he is a bus driver and came to Madrid from Pamplona), we had lunch and we drank some beers before going to the cinema. We saw "Little Miss Sunshine". What a fantastic film! I liked it a lot. It's funny, it's touching... it's absolutely beautiful.
And then, had dinner and kept on drinking until 12. We went to sleep (he went to the hotel, I came home) and I must confess I fell asleep in less than a second. Yep, I was drunk.

Shanghai woke me up at 6 am. Jeez... She wanted to play, but I was too asleep to do it. So I just jumped out of the bed (oh, it was so painful), had a long and fantastic breakfast and cleaned the house (funny, huh?).
My morning's been stressful since then: photo class, quick lunch, German class and work (I don't know how, I managed to talk to my friend Rocío, who sent me some pictures she took in Valencia last weekend). And I got into flickr and I realized I had written "lens" instead of "contact lens", so... I must clarify it: I didn't buy new lens for my camera, I bought new contact lens for my eyes :S
I feel stupid.
But it made me laugh anyway, and that's ok.

Two hours before going home and the only thing I can think of is my bed :)

we.

February is almost over.
It's been so long, really? Two months of this Diary (amazing! I have started to write several diaries in my life, but I forgot them all in less than a week), two months of 2007, 58 days of going out and coming back to Madrid, of working, of not sleeping :), of German and photo classes, of smoking and drinking (nothing as bad as it sounds, really), of writing and reading and watching TV and movies, of meeting friends (and new people)... and I feel like no time has passed.

For the time being, I'm very happy. I've got my bad days, of course (and my dark side and my upset times and...), but I think (like the "What a world" song says) that I'm doing fine :)

And yes. I feel fine. Life's cruel, as my English teacher used to say, but it's beautiful.
So.

March has just begun. It's my cat's and one of my friend's birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YOU!!!
I bought a toy for Shanghai today: a mouse with coloured feathers (yes, I know, modern mice are soooo weird, haha). She liked it a lot, but the poor mouse lost its eyes and one of the feathers in less than five minutes. I wonder what will I find when I get home.

This month is full of birthdays (my sister, my dad and many friends: Iratxe, Marta, Sara, Luis Ángel, Borja, Jesus, Lidia, Gonzalo, David, Aritz, Josetxu, Adriana and Ainara). Jeez, it looks like everybody got pregnant at the same time :P
But that's ok. I like this month, because I can talk to all those friends and see them happy.

And this has been a good day. Some things to do in the morning, lots of work in the afternoon... but I had a beer with some people from the office in my 20 minutes break and it's been great :)
Just an hour and a half to go. Fine fine fine.

My sister's birthday. I bought the last present for her this morning, at last! I went to "The chocolate factory" and bought a box of delicious chocolates (when I entered in the shop, I thought I was going to die; there was so much chocolate everywhere... I even saw sugar with cocoa!!!!).
I'm going to send it to her in a big box with two t-shirts and a book :) I don't mind if it doesn't arrive on time. I just want her to like it.

Oh, today's been a day with a little mistery. This morning, I opened my letter box and I found a present for Shanghai (three little plastic balls), but no name, no address... was written on it. So I started to call my friends, but no one left it there.
My sister said Shanghai had an affair with somebody and some people theorized on some kind of secret admirer (yesyesyes, my friends have seen too many movies).
At last, my German classmate Valerio called and told me he was the one who bought the present and put it there :) What a kind guy. I should talk about him more often, he's a very, very special person, and I'm glad of being her friend.

Mmmmmm weekend again! Yessss!
Have a wonderful first March weekend, sweets!!!

Saturdays are (almost) always great days. A lot of time to do whatever... and all I did was watching TV with Iván :P , what was great, you know: watching a lot of episodes of four different TV shows (24, Prison Break, Heroes and Lost) and getting stuck in the sofa aaaaaall day, feeling like a pair of eyes stuck to a body.
But we also went out at night and had some beers with our friend Jaime. And we saw the moon eclipse!!!! (I don't know if I said it right :S)

One of my relatives used to say that a day is lost when you are idle. But I don't think that's true. I think that, if I feel fine at the end of the day, it's been a good day.

Mmmmmm sunny Sunday. Good day to wake up late, have breakfast (toasted bread with tomato, oil and salt, orange juice and a coffee.... mmmm, I've felt in Heaven this morning), buy the newspaper and change my room.
Yes. I did it. Yesterday, I was at home and I thought I was bored of my room. And, this morning, I moved the furniture. And I think it's been great, because my room looks bigger and I'm more comfortable in it :)

I had a pair of beers and went to the cinema with the guys (Adriana, Jaime, Iván, Fani and Gonzalo). We saw "The Host" and I (we) must admit I didn't like it at all. It has some funny scenes, but it's sooooooo boring most of the time. The whole film is surrealist, it's a rip-off.

I haven't any :P My friends are working or resting (because they worked too much or because they are going to take part in a iaido course this weekend and they need to rest) or having romantic dinner with their boy/girlfriends, so today I'm going to stay at home with my little furry monster and have dinner and watch TV or read a book or wathever. I'll see. Maybe I'll just sleep.

It was a fine day today. I took some photos I developed some days ago, I talked to my friend Ruth, I talked to my friend Jaime, who's in Bilbao doing the paperwork so that Adriana and him get marry in July... and I had a nice surprise when I came to the office.
Rafa, one of the salesmen, borrowed me a CD: Keith Jarrett, "The Köln Concert".
He talked to me about that musician some days ago, because I didn't know him, and today he brought me that disc :D:D What a kind guy!

Just one hour to run away!!!!

Have a long and nice weekend, my sweets :)

He!! that's lovely too ;-))

'bout Jarrett, Koln is probably his best "improvisation" concert. He has so many CDs out, quartets and solo; he is one of my favorite musician. There is one or two very good DVDs on himself and his music. Enjoy!!

Nice composition there... How did the large-format photos go or have you seen them yet?

You have a pretty kitty... Sucker for blue-eyed animals. ;)

March, 10
sat.

Nice, nice day. I bought a bunch of daisies for my friend Adriana –Jaime took it in the evening, when he came from Bilbao– and I went to David's place, to have dinner and watch the football match (Barcelona - Real Madrid = 3-3) with him, his girlfriend (Montse), Celis and María.

We don't like football, really (well, maybe the boys like it a bit, but not too much), but that was just an excuse for meeting. And we had a great time together. Watched the match, ate some pizza and chocolate, drank (not very much) some beers, smoked and laughed a lot. We had a birthday present for David, two marionettes (a wolf and a little pig), and he talked through them all night :D

It was almost 4 am when I got home. And I slept and slept...

magpie33:
we worked on large-format photos last week
it was all right (i liked it a lot), but i found it very difficult, i think we'll have to work a lot to get good captures

CollardGreens :
i used a flash (it's a part of my photo class work)
we were supposed to take photographs of bottles, but i also took this shot when i finished my task

thank you all!!!!! :)

Impressive photo the one with the smoke :-)) Me encanta! Btw.. I fully agree with you that football matches tend to be more an excuse to meet with friends, talk and discuss a lot.. and it's wonderful to have these excuses : )
