eelend's 2007

eelend PRO 8:11am, 2 January 2007
So here it is. 2007 has arrived and I feel it's going to be a good year for me. Better than 2006, at least.
I think I needed some kind of change, some kind of rebirth. I don't know if this new year will give me the change I need, but I think it's beautiful starting a year (365 days, wow!) and I'm excited.

I'm glad I spent Christmas with my family, and here they are. Only dad is missing, but well. Next year, we'll see him in this picture:

Tsk tsk for neglecting The Insomniac Club but, as always, the photos more than make up for it!

And well done on scoring the Danube cruise - that sounds wonderful! Where abouts will you be sailing? I love that end of Europe.

it's really interesting but, in case of being executed, the iaidoka and the kendoka would do a good work anyway, because both are samurais, at the end

we.

Lack of sleep :P and a busy day at work.
But, when I got out, I went shopping with María and Adriana. I had to buy a dress for Adriana's wedding and they decided to come with me. Sooooo at last, I bought a red corset and a black skirt (in less than an hour!!!! :D That's perfect. I hate shopping). So gothic. Adriana told me the other guests were so posh and they had spent hundreds (and, in one case, thousands) of euros in their clothes... Great.

I'll be the tacky one :P

you're the artsy talented one --I bet the outfit looks funky and cool. You should take some self-portraits.

Sorry I haven't been around lately but I caught up since you lost your photo CD! whatever happened with it? I hope you kept going back and yelling at them. I can't believe how that would make me feel! I'm so sorry that happened to you!

Anyway the shots of Maria are amaaaaaaazzzing! oh my gosh, I am *so* impressed! you're very good!

have fun on the cruise! yipppeeee!

Sorry I mispelled the item...

Google: (The word castanet comes from castaina, the Spanish word for chestnut. Besides castainuelas, there are several other Spanish words for castanets, including pulgaretes (because some dancers attach them to their thumb, or pulgar) and platillos (saucers).

What a boooooring day at work (and I forgot again that I had to take a picture of myself :P).

But the afternoon was ok. I bought some comic books :D and 5th season of "Family Guy" and I went to the cinema. I watched "Transformers"!! Hehehe and I liked it a lot.

And then home and Shanghai and a bit of internet (not too much, though) before going to sleep.

When you mentioned corset, you reminded me I had a pix I wanted to send to my stream... so I went and got the wifey's approval... ;) She's bashful.

Ohhhhh I think I finally understand- you have all the film of the shoot with Maria, but not the cd copy? That's bad that there's a cd floating around somewhere, but I had thought you lost EVERYTHING... ?

mon.

Terrible hot day. I had breakfast with Iván and met his boss, Ángela, and one of his workmates, Delphine, a French girl with whom I'm going to travel through the Danube.

We went to their office and Delphine explained the "Danube odyssey" to me. We're going to be travelling since September the 2nd to the 15th; the trip starts Vienna and finishes in Romania, and we're going to stop over in Hungry, Bulgaria, Serbia and Slovakia.
I'm supposed to read my poems (while musicians play and other writers read their works) and I'm going to work with children and teenagers in a project about the coexistence and exchange of cultures.
(I have to do my homework now; we have to get the project ready as soon as possible)
I'm going to work hard, but I'm sure it's going to be fantastic.

Woke up at 6 am (I had gone to bed at 1 am :P) because of the hot. Damn it.
I had breakfast and looked for texts, pictures..., because I wanted to read and start to organize (inside my head, at least) what am I going to do in the cruise.

After doing that and going on some errands, I met Valerio and we drank a beer at the Olavide square (a fantastic place near my home). He told me about the trip he had made to Libia with his father and about his future wedding (in March), I told him about my future cruise... and we said goodbye to each other until September. Next week, he's going to Rome to spend a month with his family. He's a lucky guy!!

And I had lunch and came to work.
And routine said hello.
And I want to go home.
There are a lot of e-mails I should have written today. Damn.

Terrible day at work. I was about to take my things, go home and never come back :P
But it suddenly changed. I got a call from a publishing house that I visited last month and they want to see me next Monday. Maybe this means that I'm going to get a new job, after all. Let's see.

I picked up Adriana at her place. She was going to Bilbao (she's marrying on Friday! Yay!) and she needed somebody to help her with the luggage and her wedding dress, so we went together to the bus station and had a coffee. And I tried to calm her down (well, she's marrying on Friday, she's so nervous!).

And yesssss I went to the cinema and watched Harry Potter, hehe. I liked it a lot. I didn't read the books (I know, it's unforgivable), but I like the movies a lot. Specially the last ones, because they're darker and Harry isn't exactly a heroe.
And yes, I'd love to have a magic wand and put spells on people and things :P

i love that photo - the length and lines and blocks of texture - the warm pink - mmmmm - it made me smile all these many miles away - thanks
Dragonhide 11 years ago
zurrapa-- That name did not ring any bells so I googled a bit. It's not surprising that names don't ring a bell- my in-laws like to shove everything they can find in front of me to see if I'll try it. I do! Life is too short to be picky! I'm very curious about everything in life! It's a good thing I have a strong stomach that can handle *almost* anything.. hehe

My parent in laws are so fascinated with me at the dinner table- the way I'm raised, you do not leave food on your plate. And the way THEY're raised is that you do not leave your guest plate empty... Not a good mix. haha

Zurrapa looks familiar- is it like a pate' but with more fat? I think I've tried it. If I haven't, I'll try it! :-)
Dragonhide 11 years ago

I went to Bilbao by bus with Iván. He was sleeping most of the time, while I was reading "Fast food nation". We arrived at 3 pm, more or less, and went to my sister's place. I made a little visit to my family and then came back with Iván, because we had to get ready and go to the wedding.

It was so beautiful. Jaime and Adriana were so, so good looking. Jaime's mother read a poem of Pablo Neruda before they said "I do", people was happy as ever... We had dinner at a wonderful palace from Santurce and danced as if we were possesed (and ate as if we were staving and drank and smoked a lot) until 2:30 am.

Then, we went to the Kamin Cafe (the place were Jaime and Adriana met) and met Miguel (www.flickr.com/photos/eelend/85136014) and chatted with him until 5 am (time to come back home and try to sleep).

Fantastic :)
