January 1, 2007

The first day of this year was spent in front of TV with Matrix. I have seen the first one before so today I watched the other two. The flat is a mess. But I guess it doesnt have to be clean on the very first day, does it?;) Today Im going to watch Twin Peaks. They start to show it in FIN again. Heard so much about it so have to check it out! Kari even bought a soundtrack few days ago!!

Yes.... If you said "electronic magazines" it would mean the magazines were powered by electricity.

I really have no idea what was happening in Finland in the Middle Ages. Under Swedish rule?

Hello! Looks like you had a fun trip to the US.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Suzanne Vega show -- we're going to see her show up here in September. I love singers who tell great stories with their songs.

I'm curious: why would it be bad to have the yard on the east side of the house?

@Erica: I loved that reflection so much I asked Kari to stop the car so that I could take some shots :) Couldnt get it the way I wanted: water part too dark and the trees too light but live and learn :) There was an old wooden house nearby, nice and peaceful place to live..

@Friuduric: She was really great, and communicated quite a lot with the audience, told about the songs. Well, to think about it she usually says sth about them :) Im glad I went.
About the yard - we can enjoy it (or do some work there) only in late afternoons and evenings and thus we'd like it to be sunny, not shadowy.. It also would be nice to see sun setting to the river. It would give a nice warm light to the living room which would be at the back of the house facing the river.

My friend said September is always a difficult month. I thought: good it's half way through then. I should remember that a walk outside or a small biking trip is a great remedy for many difficulties.

The most pleasant thing today was to find my stubborn balcony flower finally blooming. I planted the seeds already back in June. Beginning of June! Then a month ago this bud appeared and I thought "any time now". Yeah, right, it remained a bud for a month! No kidding! So why did it bloom now? Because I thought it feels cold in the balcony and brought the flower to the living room. Yesterday evening.. :o)
Just a bit of warmth makes the difference.

Felt like plaits today.
Bought frozen spring rolls today, thought it might be eatable. No, it wasnt. I threw them away..
