Broken pipe

Outside of house, the line of the tube of the water is broken off. Perhaps we will remain without water. People say: " they are eight guys but only four on the job and others that watch the first "and to add "... and we pay!".

edit
This evening, where I have taken the photo goes all OK. But the culvert is broken in an other point and the water is invading the road. Later (22 h) I have heard that men were working in order to avoid that the quarter remains without water

The color here is so deep --- is this HDR or added saturation?
BellaGaia (Living with BellaGaia)

Not HDR.
This morning was only cloudy and between the palaces there was little light. I preferred to make darker that to make photo moved.
Nice pics on your stream,: Yet I'll go to see there better

I agree with Bella the colour is great. Especially the reds and blues which are so bold against the neutral browns.

Natural Artistic Wall

Today, rainy and dark day. I try to do something with my work on the computer, but I spend more time on Flickr.
The walls are those of a small shop of fruits and vegetables where I usually buy. In France there is not more like that, only super/hyper- market.
The owner explains that it is in action against the neighbors for the damage.
Bad rainy day.

The only shot of the day. Just for the diary. Worked a little.
I live in the historical center of Genoa, the wider historical center of Europe. Until little completely ignored by the Authorities. Since the G8 of the 2001, then the year like european capital of the culture in 2004 and now inserted in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites either the public administrations and the Tour Operators seem to discover the city. It's worth it, with a still authentic atmosphere. Come to visit it!!

... "e io pago!!!"

-----------------

"and I pay!!!"
A typical italian scene... 10 workers and only 2 actually on the job! and obviously the work goes on at least for 8 days!

The picture of the dying Stella di Natale leaf is gorgeous, as is the pic of the yellow wall.

Good job you posted the last picture, as I was about to ask you where you live. You're right, up until the G8, no one took any notice of Genova...

For once they quickly made, differently all the district was without water, and perhaps it lives somebody of important there.

I worked more than one year in Rome. If I were not married (with a genovese naturally) I would have remained. Very beautiful city which makes me think too much in Paris: capital and non provincial, touristic and not closed (all opposite of Genova) and historical.

drops

ooops a little bit too late for today.
hervcha 11 years ago
I called the photo "Drops - condensation" because it is like this I found the water bottle in my car this morning. It had remained there for last Saturday, of the return voyage of France.
I travelled by the car to make purchases in a magazin of wholesale in the external districts of the city.
Today afternoon I thought of making photos of classsical/aged cars which transported the flame for the universitade of Turin (O.G. of the Universities). On the other hand nothing!! I wait to read the newspaper tomorrow to know what occurred, if it speaks about it.

I always do the shopping every Saturdays morning. I like that and I also adore to cook on Saturdays and Sundays because I have time; or for the friends.
I like to do the shopping also because in Italy and even more in the historical center of Genoa, there are still all these small shops where there is human relationship with the owners or the salesmen who know you because they are always the same ones. The fishmonger, the "polleria" (poulterer), the delicatessen, the butcher, the baker's, the confectioner's, the greengrocer. So you will discover my suppliers and the various menus during this year.

Today the day was hard. I indeed lost all the morning for bureaucratic practices. Typically Italian exercise, like in Kafka. A new law obliges the free professions to have a new bank account to be better controlled. And my Home Banking didn't function in spite of the payments to make. Then the usual queue at the Post office. Fortunately after midday was quieter.

This is a "Creüze" typical alley of Genoa. I live at the end of this one. I love these alleys. They are unique in the world. The cars don't pass there (in the heart of the town centre!!!). actually the mimosa plant/flower has no nice scent at all... and can be bit disturbing.... it's actually not concidered much of a flower at all.. as it's really only the blooms of a tree...
We only gave it importance ever since it became the symbolic flower for "women's Day" which is celebrated on March 8th.

Genoa from Palazzo Rosso (by hervcha)

Today I selected this photo of Genoa seen from the Red Palace.
In fact this historical palace is a museum and belongs to the system of the Rolli.
Rolli were these residences which the rich Genoeses put to disposition of the republic in order to receive the famous hosts. This system of the Rolli is now part of the Unesco's World Heritage list. and today it has been the ceremony of the commemorative plate there. And the entrance of the museums was free.
