Lee Denim Day -- Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Think pink

Think Pink
Dragonhide 11 years ago
On dialup I havent seen the pictures yet ,but I see the text already-- thinking PINK SO VERY HARD. I lost my Mom to breast cancer last october- oddly enough during breast cancer awareness month, I'm sure she planned it that way. she was just that cool.

I'll probably have more to say when the pictures load....... knowing myself. :)
Dragonhide 11 years ago
True to form:

Wow I am overwhelmed with radishes...

and the key to knowing women.. the key to unlock women's secrets.. the key to understanding the woman, the key to illumination..... something, something I just know it's important. Oh the restroom? No I think there's deeper meaning here... :)

Oh, You are the gatekeeper and I am the keymaster.. oh yeah baby! (Ghostbuster anyone? sorry geeky shit)

*ahem*

the 29th.. what the? Some kinda religious store? some of the stuff on display has me shaking my head in wonderment

I am so curious about the 30th- most people don't casually wear all those rings.. and it is pretty obvious that each and every one of the ring being worn has its personal meaning.

The next two abstract shots are pretty yummy and then we arrive to something even more yummy-- your boo.. boo.. boso... uh... the weather's getting cold here lately. It rained a lot today. (hehe)

I'm glad you're easing your way back into your diary,, I always enjoy your posts.
RobW_ PRO 11 years ago
Yay. Bella's back. Lovely red radishes, with carrots to back them up. I'm still wondering about the significance of the key, and the placement thereof.

Your Jesus store was an absolute classic. What were you shopping for?

Sept 30 is such a powerful, emotional shot, evoking emotion in this viewer. Thank goodness we have Oct 5 to balance it out, such a soft, gentle, feminine shot, with its serious message. Pink is such a soothing, feminine colour. Makes me want to give you a hug.
sunshinecity 11 years ago
Hahahaah.... oh the pait fo you, such great sillies!

Interesting Jesus store Bella! I'd like to hear more about that one too!!
BellaGaia PRO 11 years ago
Alex, The jesus display is in a store where you'd least expect it -- it's in a soda fountain in So Pasadena that has all kinds of gift stuff, some elegant, some sexy, some goofy like this. I wasn't really shopping for anything Rob, just passing thru.

Sept. 30 -- I have lots of jewelry -- most of the big, gaudy and real stuff is inherited. Actually, i bought the one on my index finger at an estate sale -- for the record, I'd never wear more than one at a time in real life.

the story of that photo -- how bout this... that portrait is about having things and still being unhappy, my mouth is covered because i can't speak and all the things make me want to do is strike out....

JAllen, Thanks for helping me get started again :-)

Hugs for you Rob

we rode over to the farmers market and were all raring to go to get some fruit, these beautiful berries
roasted corn, rotisserie chicken, and whatever else struck our fancy, and while we were standing in line I realized I left my wallet at home on my dresser.... bummer... left over pasta and tuscan cantalope (that was a fair consolation)

Dragonhide 11 years ago
Oh god.... it's so terrible that such a minor thing like leaving your wallet home dramatically changes plans.

Anyway the roots... the roots of that tree is remarkable.... I can see all kinds of figures laying on the ground... its like watching clouds.

The cross on back of the RV is so.. so.... damn... *speechless*

Dragonhide 11 years ago
What a mysterious booth... Enter and have your life's problems solved kind of thing?

That's a sexy flower detail, bella!
BellaGaia PRO 11 years ago
It's hard enough in an SUV -- which I sometimes feel guilty that I drive, but when I hear about the crashes and how the people in the smaller cars didn't survive, I feel more secure. Last week, there were deaths of innocent bystanders from separate incidents on Monday and Tuesday resulted from car racing during busy traffic times. It's a real problem here.

A scooter? You're a superhero!

JAllen -- I'm going to go back and take a look, i think you can't enter the booth, that it's the side of a soda machine.... i think, but I could be wrong.... but wouldn't that be nice... kind of twilight zonish, but nice.... the lines would be long

Mouthwatering pizza up there, mmmm.... Best foot forward, good girl Bella. And that uncurling orchid is lovely! A little love and a little water is all they need.
sunshinecity 11 years ago
Well this sucks.... I can't see youyr photos in the thread at all!! I dunno if it's me or flickr being a poopy head.
Anyways... any tips you may need for the pizza, just ask away!!
BellaGaia PRO 11 years ago
Flickr doesn't like me these days. my account has been tagged unsafe ..... WHY? I don't freaking' know..... i've gone through my "flesh" series and marked them all, but I haven't asked to be reviewed yet, lest there is more offensive stuff in my stream. I hate the glib nature of their response about their ratings... in sum I think it says that if you can't comply with their rules then maybe flickr isn't the place for you. Well, you Yahoo Nazis -- I was on flickr before you bought it and it liked me fine then! I don't have a bunch of crotch shots in my stream and now not only can non-flickr members not see my stuff, members are having problems too..... okay, i've ranted enough.... phew, that felt good.
BellaGaia PRO 11 years ago
and now after that, I'll post my lovely serene shot from yesterday that I aptly entitled "god's hand"

God's hand
Dragonhide 11 years ago
God's hand.. indeed! That's just awesome. so is the orchid, so is the pizza.. its all good. Guess it looks better than it tasted? The pizza, I mean, not foot.. hahaha
sunshinecity 11 years ago
beautiful serenity!
Yeah flickr's "unsafe" crap filter can be a pain, epecially if it's not working rght, but the problem on my end was that the photos weren't loading at all... all i saw was the empty boxes... I guess something to do with server issues, I dunno. We'll leave that stuff to the techi boys like Tim lol..

Anyways... I love that shot of the orchid, so glad it woke up from it's sleep... you probably made it feel alive again with your presence!

As for your pizza.... yeah, not very Italian looking, though it's making me drool nonetheless! Hahaha...
I think the secret is in how thin you roll it!
BellaGaia PRO 11 years ago
Tim, it's didn't taste bad to Jade -- she loved it, the crust was doughy to me, though. You're right Alex, it probably should've been rolled thinner... but it fit exactly in the 12 in pan like they said it should -- I used really fresh ingredients tho -- fresh basil, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and mozzerella with the procuitto -- that's not Italianish? oh well, next time, i'll get the crust premade.... better yet, we'll buy out....
RobW_ PRO 11 years ago
God has long, old fingers hasn't she? Lovely in the sunlight, quite spiritual.

I'm no expert on "unsafe" filters and such, but if you have gone through the exercise of marking all your fleshy pictures appropriately where it says "flag this picture" in the bottom right corner, you should not have a problem asking for a review? I personally don't have a problem with any of your pictures.
Lalalian PRO 11 years ago
Oh Bella, the orchid is gorgeous!

I'm feeling more than a little hungry now that I've seen that pizza. Keep practicing with the pizza base because there's nothing better than homemade pizza {:->
sunshinecity 11 years ago
aww no hon... I didn't mean it like that, sory... I was only referring to the crust! It looks and sounds wonderful... the toppings are super! I think home made pizza beats anything you can ever buy pre made elsewhere!!
You might like to try baking it on a sheet next time, rather than in a pan or tin... that way you can roll it as thin as you like!
= )
Dragonhide 11 years ago
You know, I am so ashamed in all my travels, I have never had a genuine Italian made pizza. I know they make it different (better some might argue) than Americans make it.

But alas, that is one thing I am so naive about.... must change that ASAP.

Ok, so by now everybody suspects I'm a super-nerd (I wish, as if!).. just don't ask me to explain away the fucking retarded things Yahoo is doing to us, mm'kay? I think they're stupid too, myself. Argh ARGH.

I chaperoned Jade's school dance, and sadly she didn't get to go because she was grounded for grades.... everybody missed her. She did get to help decorate beforehand and made her feel a part of it. Oddly, other mothers thought I was so courageous for not letting her go -- I don't get that.... rules are rules, and i don't feel bad for setting boundaries.... there's no courage involved, it's just about doing what you say you're going to do....that's integrity, not courage...

of course, these were the same mothers who are in awe of me because i know the lyrics to the songs that were playing..... one asked me to explain what a "holla back" girl is.... well actually, she thought it was "hollow back"

I know the problem all too well unfortunately. We too have great forrest fires in the summer, due to the heat and many are malicious too, sadly.
ebilflindas 11 years ago
The two of you are absolutely radiant!

"Hollow Back"--lol! I bet some meaning could be worked out, though.

Hope the Malibu fires aren't close to you. We're not too close, but this wind and negative humidity ( ! ) are scary!
Dragonhide 11 years ago
Wow, you and your daughter are positively glowing! I'm with you about the discipline part... Do what you say you'll do. wishy-washy parenting just leads to troublesome adults in my opinion.
RobW_ PRO 11 years ago
Sad that the smoke from the fires makes for even more spectacular sunsets. Couple of months ago, we had those terrible fires in Greece, and now it's Malibu's turn. Sadly, Ebilflindas forecast exactly this on my diary a while ago (Santa Ana winds etc).
Sorry I haven't been commenting on many streams; but my internet connection is slow that the photos rarely load. I am reading everything though and hope that at some point my high-speed DSL will be come high speed.

The ones that do load though are really great; but I am still waiting to see the tree with the face in it on Oct. 18.

Get well soon, T.

Where can I find that recipe? I'm like Tim, with one difference. I'll try anything twice; once to try it, twice if there's enough for seconds. Hungry

And that's a lovely, Autumnal centerpiece, with great lighting.
BellaGaia PRO Posted 11 years ago. Edited by BellaGaia (member) 11 years ago
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup bread crumbs
3 eggs beaten
1/2 to 3/4 c chopped walnuts or pecans
1 t thyme
1/2 t savory
onion flakes or chopped sauteed onions
1 pkg onion (beef style or whatever) soup mix -- use a little less than a whole pkg to make it less salty -- i'm okay with a whole pkg.

this is the basic recipe -- you can add some chopped fresh mushrooms, some shredded carrots or other veggies, if you like --

1 can cream of mushroom soup diluted with 1 can milk

mix up ingredients, form into patties, i let it sit for a bit so they stay together better -- fry in oil a couple minutes on each side to brown.

place in a baking dish, pour soup on top and bake uncovered at 350 for 20-30 minutes.

makes 12 patties

voila.
friuduric 11 years ago
Like others have said, that's a great arrangement.

I wonder how they got the logo on there -- carve it in when the pumpkin was still a baby? That would be child abuse, i think!

Funny how once you learn a word, you see it everywhere. I just learned about panko on Monday, and here it is again. Hah!
