today there were fires in the foothills directly behind my house, the helicopters flew for hours going back and froth from local reservoirs and even from the duck pond at the Rose Bowl collecting water to dump on it. This is one of the fire copters.

I've noticed n your stream that you've had a lot of cloud shots lately Buns. You've captured some amazing varieties of color.

Emil -- I know what you mean -- being pretty much out of it for 6 weeks got me all lost in everyone's stream. and timing being so important, i just kept silent with most of my comments because how dumb is it to throw in your two cents in a conversation that was three weeks ago and is WAY over....

JAllen -- Yes, SF get's lots more rain than we do. it's desert-ish down here. Were the summer camps here in so. cal in the mountains?

La M -- I'm doing my best not to dive right in. I'm not going too much beyond the 4 hour day that was set for me.

Speaking of picking up on old diary conversations--I used to work at a gay restaurant, and for Halloween one year, I went as Ron Jeremy. I didn't have a costume, so I just wore jeans and a Hawaiian shirt; my hair was about shoulder-length back then, so I just rubbed some lotion in it to make it look greasy; then I shaved my goatee, but left the 'stache. I was surprised by how many people asked if I was supposed to be Ron Jeremy! I kept wondering how I should take it that people could tell who I was dressed as!

(omg, I just found a photo from that night...*SCARY*...not something I would post on Flickr...I got too much family lookin'!)

Of course, there's a story that goes with that scar.... someone threw a pot of boiling fettucini at me. I'm lucky that's the only place that it hit me. Funny that it looks like a heart. He always said I'd always remember him.

Sept 1

The temperature topped 100 degrees today. Too hot and I don't have air conditioning..... just a bunch of fans all over the place blowing hot air....when i fixed my furnace in December they quoted me $10K to get a new HVAC (I think that's right) -- priorities pushed cold air down my list.... Anyway, it's too hot to eat much besides fruit....

la petite fille -- you are no sorrier than i am ;-)

Thank you, Pibette -- I kinda like it too -- i have a lot of scars, but this one has some significance.

Don't you worry your pretty little head, Rob, I'm a tough cookie -- I left the next day. would've been that day, but i couldn't get all my stuff together. And guess what!! this was not a lover! This was my musician partner/roommate who was on drugs, but you know, you can't save people who don't want to help themselves. In all honesty, I must say, he was worse off than I at the end of it (i kinda dished out as well as I took) and we went to Cedars Sanai together with a made up story of how we were attacked....yeah right, they must've thought i was on drugs too.... The scar is a good reminder to always love myself and be good to myself.

i have a funny story about a photo i took yesterday. my front door lock was broken -- the lock woudn't disengage, but the key would go round and round and the locksmith was coming to fix it. anyway, i took a photo of it... but i was naked and it ended up looking like one of those joke pix that have made the circuit on the internet of the guy taking a photo of a tea kettle but he's reflected naked in it, or i've seen another of someone taking a pix of their cat and you can see them in the window.... well, luckily i noticed my reflection in the golden door plate..... so, happily i will not be a myspace joke picture LOL and you got watermelon instead phew!

After you've got a great sky with some beautiful clouds, reminded me of Frère Jacques, (I don't know if he's back on his diary, have to go and check that up), and the burn, it's a burn so it sucks but he must of being right, with a heart shape you're going to remember him.

PSS, hmm, when i'm inspired, i have a nice martini with some kinda cosmo mixer or something or some jack daniels ;-)

Buns, Nip Tuck comes on F/X cable channel. There's way too much sex and dark humor for it to be on regular TV -- There's nothing safe from them. Great guest stars -- Brooke Shields is a psychologist this year and she's all wacked out in love with one of the MDs.... the slutty one (he's my favorite... he's misunderstood)....and he's her patient.... the other MD's wife had a baby who is deformed -- with a condition that has his hands looking like lobster claws... of course these guys being top plastic surgeons he's looking to fix it.... anyway, it's a fun show.... oh the other MD had an affair with the night nanny/nurse, and she wouldn't leave him alone.... I was just about to give away a spoiler.... I think I'll let that be a surprise... but it's a shocker.... as are most things on the show. Get's dark....i don't waste my time watching it weekly, i watched seasons 1-3 last summer and just waited for this past season to come on DVD....

(sept 14) I'm having a hard time taking photos. They seem to be less and less artistic. My life right now is not terribly interesting. I am back to work for 4 hours a day and then I go home and rest/sleep in the afternoon until I go pick up Jade and then I come home, fix dinner and do the homework thing (nag)..... I almost got in an accident this week (not to be confused with the accident that I DID get into last week when my foot slid off the brake) while driving past the golf course when I saw amazing sun light breaking through the trees... no parking on that street... i went up, hung an illegal u-ey and headed back and by the time i got back to the spot the sun had changed and it no longer looked heavenly... just regular. I suppose I should suck it up and post the pix that I have been taking, but I'm just not feelin' like they're very special. I'm so desperate.... this morning jade shrieked about a praying mantis that was just outside our door as she opened it....
