Ok some catching up to do....

March 27th 2007 ~ day 85

allergic reaction any one?

Remember those allergy tests??? Let's just say I spared you the worst of it....
Apparently my body dislikes dog hairs too, as well as dust mites (which was known to me).
My arm swelled up like a an airbag... and was as red as cherries...
One week later and it's still itching! Luckily this helps calm it down a bit!

March 29th 2007 ~ day 87

beads

There's something about beads that just attracts me!! They're always new and different every time you wear them... something in the colours that make them seem different every time...
I dunno, it's a girl thing I suppose!
See the pink necklace? I got that at on the way home from our Kentucky Trip, back in September. We stopped off for breakfast in one of those wonderful diners where all the locals go. In the entrance to the place were those gum ball machines... except they have toys instead of candy... you know the kind, right?
That's what I got with my $0.50 cents I believe it was....
Best fifty cents I ever spent!

omg! I'm sorry to hear about your reaction to dog hair! I can't imagine...I love dogs--I don't have any, but I'd hate to not be able to play with 'em.
Plus, in Chinese astrology, I'm a dog--I guess we're doomed from the start, Alex. ;-D

You got those beads out of a candy machine?! Maybe it's how you've shot them but they look very nice--nicer than I would expect for a 50 cent string of plastic.

And I love the paperclips!

You know that's a pretty decent macro shot, there of the paper clips. I'm not partial to colored paper clips for clipping paper, but they make a pretty good subject. Who says macro shots have to be flowers, anyway?
sunshinecity 11 years ago
The funny thing is... every time I've ever been near a dog I've never had any symptom what so ever! I wonder to what extent this is true...
Yeah those pink beads are pretty neat all considered!

Thanks! I'm pretty keen on the shot myself! They come in this cutest little glass jar, sort of like that one baby food comes in! LOL

Yum... the sun is starting to shine on us again! I'm really loving the fact that the clocks went forward an hour.

As promised, my collection of miniature snow globes. It's not the best shot... I didn't have a table to set them on, my parents were occupying the lovely oak dinner table, so I set them on the parquet floor in my bedroom LOL

April 1st 2007 ~ day 90

*Gulp* Day ninety??? I can't believe we're already in April!!
Don't time fly, huh??!!"?

Ok, people today was the best day ever!!! Not only did I go on my first Flickr meet, but I went on my very first "serious" photographic excursions!!! I mean, there were real top notch photographers here... lemme tell you! Did I feel like a baby in the shallow end of the pool, with arm bands and everything or what!

My friend and I went very late... most people met at 11am. We only decided last minute and got there at about 6pm!! Luckily daylight saving time has set in, so we had an extra hour of light.

I found it VERY hard to choose one picture from today. I think I did pretty good and took some great shots, all considering the limitations of my basic digital camera.
However, this was my choice. I hope you all like it!

sunset behind the hill - tramonto dietro la collina

I rarely ever brag but please do take some time to see the entire set, or, if you prefer, the slide show. Some really are worth your time, I promise!
Feel free to give feedback... most appreciated!

One thing I've been wondering about for a long time is how do they keep the snow from melting in these globes?
Glory and Iramiro are right, there is magic inside these globes. And it's a special kind of magic: it can seep through the glass, you don't have to break it. Whenever you hold one in your hands and gently shake it, you can feel the magic wafting all around...

Urgh, I HATE doing laundry!! I think I'd like the chore much much better if I actually had a washing machine in my apartment. Summertime's not so bad, but when I have to haul all my dirty clothes in my car during a snowstorm, it just sucks! But it's great that you enjoy it. I just love the smell of freshly washed clothes.

April 5th 2007

Tonight I met up with a friend from work. He needed a friend to talk to; he has a bit of an awful situation at home. His mother is terminally ill and he's an only child and doesn't really have any family or friends to share his pain with.
He told me I'm one of the few people who helps him take his mind off things and after some insistence he managed to convince me to go out for a drink with him. I'm always a bit skeptical of going out with a guy alone, I'm taken and I'd hate for things to be misread, but he's not interested in me that way. He just needed a friend to lean on. He respects my commitment and my relationship and is in one himself.

Needless to say it was actually a fun night. We talked and laughed and I was glad to see him smile.
On the way back to the car I realized I still had to take a shot for my diary, so I took a picture of the phone box outside the bar.
I thought I'd give it a bit of an edge in photoshop though.

April 9th 2007 ~ day 98

Easter Monday is a holiday here. Needless to say it's a time for fun!
I was off work and as always my friends and I like to go for a short road trip, if the weather's good.
Today, of all days, was just wonderful!
We went to Orbetello, a tiny town (about and hour and a half drive) in Tuscany, very close to Grosseto . It's just on the Argentario Coast, so there's a beach and lots of tourism in the summer. The town itself is fairly small, but very very picturesque.

We went to the beach and soaked in the sun. It was a great day!
We ended up staying for dinner too, and started to head home at about 11pm. That's the Italian way to avoid traffic. On Easter week end there's always a lot of travelers on the road. It's a very common time for people to take short trips, seeing as Spring is in full bloom in most parts of the country.

Lovely pic of (your?) feet in the sand, and I really like the picture of the sunflower. It reminds me I need to plant a few...

Yes, skittles have beautiful bright colours and smell great. I also like to eat them so I guess I am the strange one again :(
