Should YFA groups in North Wales be givern decommissioned North Wales F&R Vehicles (Eg Pumps)????????

Yes, Not only does this give a pride in having their own vehicles, its a "backdoor" preservation used by other FRS. Also NWFRS could try for local sponsorship for these.

it does make sence to as alot of decommissioned appliance's from retained fire staiton's don't have many miles on them when they do scrap or decomission them.
Like N21 DJC and N664 ECC

A local factory offerd us their old WRL in full working order for the YFA to use, and NWFRS denied us the ownership for it. so we have to use the actual service vehicle, which if gets a shout, then we have to rush to put all the equipment away and get out of the way before the firemen get there

Its not an ideal situation mate, If they serious about YFA then they really need to provide resources for it in a better way. Other FRS do this and it fosters better relations.

well now that the service are receiving cuts, then if the Phoenix project gets cancled then maybe the service might become more involved in the YFA

Two different things mate, but I realise that Phoenix gets more pumped into it. YFA should be better intigrated and promoted in NWFRS, It is a community project with proven values and results. Respect and understanding can not be measured by Penpushers unfortunately.
