This group pool is for members only.

Group Description

This group is focused on residential properties, detached , semi detached, multi family, low rise, high rise or any other configuration of public or private housing. At this point conversions of properties from alternate purposed properties like loft conversions of factories are not included. Once the pool is adequately up and running we will look at the various other forms of housing.

All photos should have a generic tag for the neighbourhood and generic map showing the location of the neighbourhood. It is not necessary to identify the exact location unless there is a compelling reason or it is a public property or similar situation. I can think of housing controlled by local municipalities such as Royal Circus in Bath UK , Frank Lloyd Wright House in Phoenix .

The aim is to show housing for the average citizen and represent a visible cross section of society from modest to houses of merit in well to do neighbourhoods. Housing portraiture and housing in context are both acceptable. If information is available for the builder, architect, resident of note etc please include it with the image. I am intending to keep this pool invitation only to ensure the pool stays on track and doesn't become a repository for generic housing pictures.

Finally 'photography is important'. Out of focus, over exposed, under exposed, visibly post processed and experimental photography is not the intent. The aim is to build a typological resource using a photo-documentary style. Please read the pool submission guidelines prior to adding to the group.

Thanks and have fun!

Group Rules

this group is focused on residential typologies. This includes detached , semi detached, multi family, low rise, high rise or any other configuration. It can be public or private housing

The final aim is not to show "houses of opulence" it is to show housing for the average citizen and represent a visible cross section of society from modest to houses of merit in well to do neighbourhoods. Housing portraiture and housing in context are both acceptable. If information is available for the builder, architect, resident of note etc please include it with the image. I am intending to keep this pool 'private' with a limited number of members in each city, so there will be no outside 'snooping' or copying.

The final word is 'documentary style of photography is important'. Out of focus, over exposed, under exposed, special effects, visibly post processed and experimental photography is not the intent. The aim is to build a typological resource in a photo documentary style that will emphasize the housing where the photographic style does not overshadow the residences. Photographs should project a straightforward "objective" point of view.
