Group Description

Hackers On Planet Earth
HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth) is a conference series sponsored by the technology enthusiasts magazine 2600: The Hacker Quarterly. There have been seven conferences to date: HOPE (1994), Beyond HOPE (1997), H2K (2000), H2K2 (2002), The Fifth HOPE (2004), HOPE Number Six (2006), and The Last HOPE (2008).

The eighth Hackers On Planet Earth conference, for which thousands of hackers, makers, artists, and subculture members from around the world will descend upon New York's Hotel Pennsylvania for three days (July 16 to 18, 2010) will feature speakers and projects and mayhem to keep anyone entertained and enlightened.

The massive Penn Pavilion conference facility at the Hotel Pennsylvania is located directly across the street from Penn Station in the heart of Manhattan.

The Next HOPE conference itself is a community project, and we can only get out of it what we collectively put into it, but most people who have spoken or volunteered in the past will tell you that the more you participate, the more fun you will have.
