This group discussion is for members only.
Group DescriptionThis is a scrap busting bee based on Tacha's hexagon pillow design, "Hexed in" in Fat Quarterly Issue #1.
Color Choices: Green/Teal/Turquoise(see mosaic) & white background
Color Choices: Grey and Brown, accompanied by white and neutral backrounds. See inspiration photos.
lighter & darker greys
whites or ivory or light brown
a little bit of orange and/or yellow
a little bit of aqua and/or lime
i don't mind a mix of solids & prints... both cutesy & modern prints are fine! i don't mind prints with lighter backgrounds (like the 3rd pic).
you can make the background any color you'd like, of the colors i listed :) i want it to feel really patchwork-y.
Also see Brooke's mosaic. =)
Jewel tones! Think deep purples and plums, chartreuse, gold, teal, magenta, ruby reds, really whatever that means to you. I'll take a photo of fabrics I'll use from my stash today to give you an idea of what I'm thinking. The twist is that I'd love all the corner squares and border strips to be a black & white/off white print to tie it all together. Use whatever you have closest to white for the background.
* COLORS: Red and Green - bright green, lime green, bright red, and maybe a little dash of hot pink too.
* CORNERS: Red
* BACKGROUND: White (I'll be using Kona white.)
* CHRISTMAS NOVELTY PRINTS: Sure!

background pieces that the hexies are sewn to: tan. if you have a tan linen, that would be great. If you don't, just use a tan kona.
hexies, thin strips, and corners: I'd like a combo of aqua, yellow, and creme fabrics.
