CANDID and Revealing

We publish only excellent Candid photos that reveal something universal about people, their environments and their interactions.

The intention of the photo must reveal itself directly and immediately to the viewer.

The pool is strictly moderated. No random snapshots, parade shots, family outings unless they are revelatory of a universal human condition.

Group Description

Submit only revealing and insightful candid photographs of people, preferably relating to one another but solos are welcome if they reveal the inner life.

The intention of the photo should announce itself clearly and immediately to the viewer.

No shots of events, parades, marches, shots of peoples' backs, tiny figures in the street please. Please do not re-submit if rejected.

No frames is my preference but I'll accept very light ones if the quality is irreproachable, the subject matter deeply moving and insightful.

I rarely accept reaction shots unless it says more about the subject than the photographer:

-No frames or signatures (unless very discreet)
-This is not a street photography group: it’s about people, not the street
-People relating to each other are preferred
-Photographs must be of the highest quality
-I accept fewer than 10% of submissions now.
-No parades, parties, relatives, snap, tourist snapshots

-Dissenting members can post photos to the complaints department (see Discussion board) to argue how their work is revealing and candid.... please do this rather than resubmitting rejected work.
