Group DescriptionThis group is for orchids native to the areas in the group title (and Zanzibar, etc. - see below). Additions to the group may be concerned with species from the areas, hybrids of species native to the areas, or hybrids whose makeup contains species from the areas.
And - hey, if you have photos of native orchids from Aldabra, Socotra, Juan de Nova, Europa (the island, not the moon), or any other islands within this geographical area (should native orchids exist in any of those places), such photos will be enthusiastically welcomed. Diego Garcia, too?
It just occurred to me that orchids from Zanzibar should also be welcomed to the group. So be it. Welcome, Neobenthamia!
Additions that do not fit the criteria will be deleted without mercy or comment, in the same manner that photos of orchids with leaves are deleted from the...leafless orchids group. It should further be realized, for those who might have doubts, that pleurothallids, Paphiopedilum, Phalaenopsis, and Cattleya, among many others, are currently unknown as native species in the named areas. Within these constraints, please post your photos of the wonderful orchids that are to be found in these parts of the world.
- This group will count toward the photo's limit (60 for Pro members, 30 for free members)
- Accepted content types: Photos, Videos, Images, Art, Screenshots
- Accepted safety levels: Safe
