BulkrAn app by ρrakaz (Digital Monk) Bulkr is a complete solution to backup, browse and download photos on Flickr. I needed to download all my photos from Flickr but could not find a tool to do that on Mac. So here is one that works on Mac, Windows and Linux!
More than 140 million photos have been downloaded with Bulkr! Features: ◆ Backup your entire photostream with a click of a button ◆ Download your sets (a folder is created for every set) ◆ Download photos in 4 different sizes ◆ Download title, tags, description (write to photo EXIF) ◆ Preview images before download ◆ Resume download if connection breaks ◆ Download upto 500 photos in batches from: → Your photostream (also search within your photostream) → Your favorites → Any Flickr group → Explored photos → Flickr search (only Creative Commons licensed photos) → Any user's photostream (only if user has enabled download) Bulkr respects Flickr privacy settings. Your photos cannot be download by others if your privacy settings does not allow it. Please read this FAQ for details. Antoaneta says:LOVE this. i just installed it and it's
simple, fast and intuitive. i've been looking
for a mac compatible flickr bulk downloader
ever since my powerbook crashed in the middle
of an overwriting backup and took with it all
my photos. other apps crashed and never got
the job done. this one works so smoothly i
just had to comment and say THANK YOU!
ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:@Antoaneta: Cool! I'm glad you like it :)
Jakob Hürner says:Great! I was looking for an app like that
(that really works on my Mac) for a long
time!
タ"ニエルさん - Danielsan [deleted] says:Not too bad an app, take my hatt off to you.
Would be good if it saved all the EXIF data
when downloading photos. Js Fragments of Time [deleted] says:agh! anybody else had trouble with the
download link? Im getting 'an error occurred
during downloading' message, and tried
downloading the adobe air software but still
wont work! Suggestions? Can somebody send
me a link in a normal format?
*Olivier is Back ! ... but busy. says:Huh ... Not a good deal for me ... ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:@Olivier: Your concern is understandable, but your
photo's privacy settings are respected. Bulkr
will not let anyone download your original or
large size photos if you have disabled that
in your photo settings. And if the user's
photo settings allows to download large size
photos, any other 3rd party app including
Bulkr will be able to access them. You can go
to clipyourphotos.com/bulkr/size-reference and see the warning message on top which
says large and original photos may not be
available for download by Bulkr. *Olivier is Back ! ... but busy. says:No my privacy settings are not respected ...
I have dowloaded some of my pics from a
friend not "linked" account ... It
comes in a size wich is more than 10x15cm -
300 ppp, so who'd like to put those on any
websites could do it. It can understand the
same process when it comes with 72 ppp
pictures (in the same size) ... not the way
it comes yet. ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:@Oliveier: I stand corrected. This is a bug in the
application (app still in beta). Right now it
doesn't seem to be reading the settings for
each individual photo. As a result it allows
you to download the large size photo (not
original). I will fix this in the next
version. Thanks for your feedback! *Olivier is Back ! ... but busy. says:Thanks a lot.
Rolo. [deleted] says:great!!!
Charlie the Cheeky Monkey says:Upsetting.
Guttorm Flatabø says:@Olivier: Please remember that the
"Allowing downloads" settings are
just there as a way for you to discourage
people from downloading original sized
photos. As Flickr themselves put it on the
settings page: "* By
"discourage" we do mean simply
"discourage". Please understand
that if a photo can be viewed in a web
browser, it can be downloaded. The
transparent image overlaid on the photo will
not keep your images safe from theft, and is
intended only as a slight hindrance to
downloading." Guttorm Flatabø says:This is great, with sync and metadata support
it would be a superior multi platform
alternative to FlickrMetadataSynchr flickrmetadatasynchr.codeplex.com/
ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:@Guttorm: Thats a really good point, thanks for that!
When you upload photos to Flickr, all 5 sizes
sizes, including large (except original) can
be downloaded via the browser regardless of
all the whiz-bang privacy settings of the
photo. lsjdljdojfwjfhsfdofhsl says:cool i need this too, thanx~~
Marcos Maurilio says:Nossa... o melhor de todos os aplicativos de
download em massa !!! publicenergy says:I've been trying to make a backup of my
Flickr photos for ages - all of the apps I
could find prior to this weren't that robust
so I ended up picking through folders looking
for missing files or half downloaded files -
a right pain! PlanetStar says:@stefan: Please! Flickr is one of the worlds
biggest social sites and the whole idea is to
share. If you have pictures you really need
to protect, then never upload them on a
social site or please make them private. [posting to FB only] says:Makes me wonder if there is an app for
cross-posting all my Flickr photos to another
service, like Picasa - would be nice to have
the peace of mind of that kind of backup!
ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:@PlanetStar: I'm glad you were able to use
it. And if not on anything else, this app
would surely work well on a Macbook Pro,
because it was made on one :)
brianjonz says:I think this is very well done. Installation
was smooth, and the interface is easy to use.
I'm sure a programmer of your obvious ability
can work toward the right policies as far as
privacy goes. Thanks for doing this, and
putting it out there for people to use. Don't
listen to the haters - this is good work!!
People with the intent to steal or do wrong
will always find a way. If you lock the door
they find a window! Limit the perms and keep
on working - this is outstanding.
ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:@Primeguy: This app works *exactly* the same
on PC as it does on Mac!
PlanetStar says:@Wizum: Jackass protection: No cars should be
able to drive drive more than 25 mph in city
areas, no guns should be able to work outside
shooting fields, all bit torrent clients
should only be able to download DRM protected
material, and Flickr should remove the
download functionality from all photos on the
whole site and the "save this
photo" functionality on all internet
browsers should be removed :-) François ! says:I was looking for a backup application. This
tool is perfect, and very nice to use ! =)
mysaliva says:Thanks prakaz - great app. I used it on my PC
and it worked like a charm. Now I can backup
all my pics easily. However I tried to
download it onto my laptop but an error
message appeared -- saying that the AIR file
is damaged and I should contact the author
for a new one. What gives?
Magic Madzik says:Guys, will you chill? I would not like to
have my pictures stolen, BUT realistically, I
think anyone who is already making money off
their photos is not keeping their entire
full-size portfolio on flickr. And if they
are and they think their photos are
safe...hm, well, they need to realise how the
internet works. *Olivier is Back ! ... but busy. says:Thanks a lot Prakaz, to let me know the work
done on the new app. (V.0.16beta), released
on this day. Cynthia Loganof [deleted] says:I love you!
alienlebarge says:that's cool ! Portraitlove ™ © [deleted] says:thanks for yuour help bud

Thank you!

UKBreezy81 [deleted] says:Fantastic app good work. Keep it up
i.love.marimilk says:It's fantastic and awesome! slowtomove says:Recently I did a fresh install of 64 bit
Windows 7 from 32 bit Vista. Of course I
backed up all my 5700 photos and home videos
first to an external hard drive. scheeko says:Very good, but one thing would really help. samthe8th says:hi for some reason it tells me i can't
download it when i try to. any thoughts on
common causes? i use a mac. ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:@scheeko: Currently this feature is not added
to keep everything simple and
straightforward. But thanks for the feedback,
will add it to the things-to-watch list. fronterpeed says:Downloadr: "Writes EXIF and IPTC data so
titles, tags and location are preserved"
- I lust for this!! jpvanarnhem says:Thank you! It worked! and it worked well. I
love the option of being able to download the
original sizes.
Chaval Brasil says:You should add Archivr as a Flickr app too,
so I can fave it :)
Michael Connell says:This is a cool app, but I have one issue.
When I download my photostream, any files
that already exist in the directory will get
copied with a new name. Is there any way to
get Bulkr to not do that? Basically, if the
local file is the same as the flickr file
don't do anything.
ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:@tx_shooter: Currently a unique name is given
to all photos downloaded from Flickr. Thanks
for mentioning this. Will keep it in mind for
the next version.
fronterpeed says:What about changing the file name to the
title used for the image? I know your not too
keen on adding the "Comments" into
the IPTC metadata of the image (even though
it gives the image its original meaning and
makes it easier to search for), but surely
you could agree that "A proper
Title" is better than
"DSC_1002". ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:
fronterpeed says:Cool, but what about the rest of the info
that gets lost, you'll only have to put that
back in manually. The picture was uploaded
with certain data, you found by that and then
disgard it upon download?
fronterpeed says:I finally got my antiquated Windows machine
updated and working with Downloadr (the other
Flickr downoad app). I forgot how clunky
Windows software is but it does get all those
valuable details from the page like Comments
and the User name, right now the images I
have contain everything the site does! fronterpeed says:Ah! I have learnt that the author of
Downloadr is to make a Mac version, so my
prayers are answered! It looks pretty smart
too.
ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:
би╲хром says:)) sure, I made sure ! Michael Connell says:Thanks, prakaz. I appreciate you looking
into that. I basically want a way to backup
my flickr stuff to my pc at work and keep it
synchronized with my photostream. A local
mirror, if you will, that updates as new
photos are uploaded or photos are replaced.
It would be easier than manually copying to a
flash drive, which is what I do now.
ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:
fronterpeed says:A ha, I found a great solution. Hope you
don't mind the post but the guy who does
Downloadr for windows (which includes the
Title, Description and Credit of the photo
from Flickr) is making a Mac version: ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:
good morning stradivari says:Ok...this is so so SOOOOOO great! Easy,
convenient and awesome.
Leeward Islands [deleted] says:This App worked perfectly. It was very easy
to use and did exactly what I wanted it to
do. And it was fast too!!! I really liker
using it, thank you!
Memos From The Universe says:I used this tonight to grab one of my sets.
For 99% of the photos, it did not retain the
Date Taken, which is valuable information.
Does anyone know if this is normal, or is it
somehow something I did?
Distraction Limited says:This is a really impressive application,
except for one problem I've run into. If the
titles of many photos aren't unique and they
are too long Bulkr can't create a new unique
file name for them and it just keeps
overwriting the files it just downloaded ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:
Distraction Limited says:Thank you! I'll be looking forward to the
next release. In the meantime it's still a
pretty neat app. And appreciated.

anyone know... ρrakaz (Digital Monk) says:
