Bulkr is a complete solution to backup, browse and download photos on Flickr. I needed to download all my photos from Flickr but could not find a tool to do that on Mac. So here is one that works on Mac, Windows and Linux!
More than 140 million photos have been downloaded with Bulkr! Features: ◆ Backup your entire photostream with a click of a button ◆ Download your sets (a folder is created for every set) ◆ Download photos in 4 different sizes ◆ Download title, tags, description (write to photo EXIF) ◆ Preview images before download ◆ Resume download if connection breaks ◆ Download upto 500 photos in batches from: → Your photostream (also search within your photostream) → Your favorites → Any Flickr group → Explored photos → Flickr search (only Creative Commons licensed photos) → Any user's photostream (only if user has enabled download) Bulkr respects Flickr privacy settings. for a mac compatible flickr bulk downloader
ever since my powerbook crashed in the middle
of an overwriting backup and took with it all
my photos. other apps crashed and never got
the job done. this one works so smoothly i

photo's privacy settings are respected. Bulkr
will not let anyone download your original or
large size photos if you have disabled that
in your photo settings. And if the user's
photo settings allows to download large size
photos, any other 3rd party app including
Bulkr will be able to access them. You can go
to clipyourphotos.com/bulkr/size-reference and see the warning message on top which
says large and original photos may not be
available for download by Bulkr.

I have dowloaded some of my pics from a
friend not "linked" account ... It
comes in a size wich is more than 10x15cm -
300 ppp, so who'd like to put those on any
websites could do it. It can understand the
same process when it comes with 72 ppp
pictures (in the same size) ... not the way
it comes yet.

application (app still in beta). Right now it
doesn't seem to be reading the settings for
each individual photo. As a result it allows
you to download the large size photo (not
original). I will fix this in the next

just there as a way for you to discourage
people from downloading original sized
photos. As Flickr themselves put it on the
settings page: "* By

"discourage". Please understand
that if a photo can be viewed in a web
browser, it can be downloaded. The
transparent image overlaid on the photo will
not keep your images safe from theft, and is
intended only as a slight hindrance to
downloading."

When you upload photos to Flickr, all 5 sizes
sizes, including large (except original) can
be downloaded via the browser regardless of
all the whiz-bang privacy settings of the
photo.

so I ended up picking through folders looking
for missing files or half downloaded files -
a right pain!

share. If you have pictures you really need
to protect, then never upload them on a
social site or please make them private.

can work toward the right policies as far as
privacy goes. Thanks for doing this, and
putting it out there for people to use. Don't
listen to the haters - this is good work!!
People with the intent to steal or do wrong
will always find a way. If you lock the door
they find a window! Limit the perms and keep
on working - this is outstanding.

think anyone who is already making money off
their photos is not keeping their entire
full-size portfolio on flickr. And if they
are and they think their photos are

that already exist in the directory will get
copied with a new name. Is there any way to
get Bulkr to not do that? Basically, if the
local file is the same as the flickr file
don't do anything.

title used for the image? I know your not too
keen on adding the "Comments" into
the IPTC metadata of the image (even though
it gives the image its original meaning and
makes it easier to search for), but surely
you could agree that "A proper
Title" is better than
"DSC_1002".

synchronized with my photostream. A local
mirror, if you will, that updates as new
photos are uploaded or photos are replaced.
It would be easier than manually copying to a
flash drive, which is what I do now.

For 99% of the photos, it did not retain the
Date Taken, which is valuable information.
Does anyone know if this is normal, or is it
somehow something I did?

except for one problem I've run into. If the
titles of many photos aren't unique and they
are too long Bulkr can't create a new unique
file name for them and it just keeps
overwriting the files it just downloaded
