GroupCommentr is a desktop application to put your photos in many award groups on flickr. After you put your photo in an award group you choose some photos from the pool, give them the award code and your done. It's designed to save you some time.

this is a Java6 Application... it should run on Windows, Linux and Mac if Java6 is installed... I'm testing on Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) so I'm not absolute sure about Mac...

If you have Java6 installed... you could launch 'GroupCommentr-xxx.jar' on any Platform on the console with:

java -jar GroupCommentr-xxx.jar

Normally a double click should do it... at least on Windows...

You're right there is no context menu on the comment box. You can copy&paste the comment with <Apple>+C (for copy) and <Apple>+V (for paste). That should do it...

If your're on Linux or Windows <Ctrl>+C and <Ctrl>+V should work...

I'm implementing the missing context menu for one of the next releases.

For those people who say that in Mac it's impossible copy&paste: just copy from the browser the words you need > then paste on a .txt file > copy again > then paste without any problems on GroupCommentr.

you have the copy&paste problem only once for every group... GroupCommentr will save the comment for later use...

It works flawlessly on the Mac... simply paste pressing Ctrl+V instead of cmd+V. I forgot it is a Linux java app...

Is the application able to save groups comment/award codes? Some time ago I used an application (GratePic) which automatically put the corresponding comment code when selecting a photo from a group pool. Unfortunately that application did not work anymore after a while and I abandoned it, but it was really great and I saved a lot of time with that.

I see above that you do not intend to fix bugs anymore, As you have released this as GPL3, is there any chance of you posting the source code on sourceforge (as is required by GPL3)

It's not easy to find so here's a link to the explanation page:

Everybody is allowed to check out the source and start coding. All you need is subversion, maven2 and JDK 6... go for it!

The only thing you can not do: you can not commit to the repository.
So you have two options:
1. You build a fork of GroupCommentr and build your own project.
2. You can send me your patches, I will check your code and commit the code for you until I think you can check in on your own.

btw I did some unfinished changes on /trunk so you may be want to patch /tags/1.0-alpha2
On the other hand: There is already code to do the window position and resizing stuff on /trunk... maybe you can patch 1.0-alpha2 with the window position/resize code on /trunk

I can to give award only in the groups, where I am just member.
In the all my 90 groups, where I am admin it do not work and write this message:
"Could not load thumbnail:
You don't have a permission to view this pool''

What is this? I don't have permission in the my own groups?
Are not private groups.
What to do?

I do not have any chance developing something like this, but as inspiration should you ever feel another version pressing on.
1) size of windows when you open them
2) In general (don't know if it's you or FlickrAPI) the app uses Crtl instead of CMD(Apple) button for commands.
3) If possible - shortcutkeys would be nice.

But again - this is the best app I ever stumbled over in Flickr - thanks
