Flogr is a flexible script that displays your flickr photos in a customizable photo gallery you host on your website. If you use flickr but want to have a different look and feel for your photo gallery you may like flogr. See it in action here.

This is pretty hot and I think I might even use it on my personal site, but the only links back to flickr that I see are through the metadata.

It might be nice to have a very subtle link somewhere around the image, maybe a light grey "flickr" or even the flickr "f" that has a tooltip saying "view on flickr" - maybe down there by "details & comments"

I like that clicking on the photo takes you to the next, but I also like to easily get to the flickr page if I want to.

I love this app, it's what I've wanted to do with a photoblog for the last five years -- basically wire everything through flickr instead of a blogging engine.

That said, I have a few suggestions/criticism/things that could be improved:

1. The previous/next isn't in the same location on every page. Instead of putting it after the title, right align it. Also switch to older/newer instead.

2. Create a theme where width containers don't have to be exact. I post photos at both portrait and landscape sizes, plus random croppings and due to the constricted layout on the default theme, the "narrow, tall" photos look weird.

3. Make URLs cleaner and easier to understand. I'd try changing the app to spit out something like this: example.com/123/My_Great_Photo where you hide the index.php file, put the ID in the URL and follow it with the Photo Title converted to URLsafe words separated by something like an underscore (or dash, doesn't matter to me)

4. My Creative Commons license option at Flickr doesn't seem to properly map to the app. I'm running by-nc-sa but it shows up as a simple Attribution (by) license, which is different.

5. Add a link to the description overlay to add a photo as a favorite that takes you to Flickr to do that?

I've released a new version (2.3) this week that addresses at least two pieces of feedback I see mentioned here: better back / next navigation on the home page and changed the default photo size in the config to prevent new users from getting temporary and confusing "image not available" message.

Do link back to Flickr when you post your Flickr content elsewhere.
The Flickr service makes it possible to post content hosted on Flickr to outside web sites. However, pages on other web sites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr.

Shows a link with the text 'Previous' and the default template uses hover back and fourth buttons. I just want to be able to click the image to see the previous. It has to be damn simple, but how?

In fact, Flickr requires any image to link back to the photo page (in the Community Guidelines.)

A friend set up my website for me. DavidSilvaPhotography.com. It uses Adobe Flash. Now what I want to do is be able to continue to add new photos and albums w/o having to use him, since from this point onwards, he will charge me for his time. And, even if he wasn't, I still want to find a faster way, where I don't need to go thru him.
I have next to zero tech skills, but I could use my friend to help me set this app up, and then if I could create new material on my sight myself, that would be great.
any comments?

I had some problems with my old flogr website the other day, but discovered it still was working perfectly after all. I installed the latest version to the website, and it's working too, but I am working on recreating a few links on the "about" page that I want to migrate. Flogr is absolutely what works best for me, because it puts an attractive face on the flickr photostream. Flickr is by far the most convenient way I've found to manage a large number of pictures. Ten years experience offers this guidance to the photographer (not information technology specialist or computer science engineer): don't ever try hosting thousands of pictures at home.
