SO, it appears Blurb does not take the photo names or descriptions. THis makes it pretty useless for em. Does nayone know of a printing application that does this? Snapfish also does not. Qo-op used to do it but now flickr integration is broken.

i used blurb for my latest portfolio and was very displeased. First of all, ALL the books come with a white crappy infill page before the cover page and after the last page. Is not a big deal unless you want to do black pages then the white page look really out of place. The paper that they use is as thin as a magazine so very easy to rip but the images are very well printed. but for the money you should get at least a little nicer paper.

Secondly the software was very difficult to use. I mean it just got very bad when i wanted a custom page to line up. so DONT USE THEIR SOFTWARE just make a pdf and import it if you decide to use.

Lastly it would not let me convert a pdf from there software with out a blurb water mark on it. come on my opinion just use SHUTTERFLY.com. keep in mind I am talking about an intense portfolio...for pictures on white pages this is worth checking out.

You can only hang so many fav pictures on the wall. The past year I've done 8 books with Blurb and I love it. For me it's simply for giggles, and archival purposes for my photographs.

I'll never forget the thrill I had when the first book arrived. The software is free to use. It just seems like a natural extension for those of us who enjoy photography.

Take 80 of your best pic's put them in an 8x10 hard cover (image wrap) and for under $50.00 it will shipped to your house and it will be one of a kind.

The Windows version works great, the mac one is horrible since it keeps crashing if you have a large iphoto library (the program keeps trying to access it).

I haven't used this app, but I've used Blurb to create a book for gifts this year, and I was absolutely thrilled - as were the recipients. The quality is amazing; it looks like a professionally published book. I found the whole system easy to use and customize, and I won't hesitate to use Blurb again.

the book looks professional and feels professional. (the softcover option does feel a bit weak though - strongly recommend that you go for the hardcover/image wrap option). The paper is fine both ways - premium is much nicer but the standard option does the job fine.
Prices are cheap. Quality is good - outstanding on the bigger book jobs.
go make books! :D

my pen and crayon drawings (which are originally 7"x7") look great, almost as good or maybe better than the originals when printed in Blurb books.
I have been happy with each one.
I ignored the warning about high resolution - these are crayon and pen drawings, and I just don't see the point to be higher than 100DPI for the medium.

the new system (in which you do not download software at all - just run a web app has a few problems (i.e. it did not pick up my whole set, but maybe it has a max capacity and some of my sets have over 150 pix in them.)
my last book

did not pick up the last image in my set at all which was the deciding impetus to get the book done, but I was happy to receive it in the mail in less than 2 weeks, previously it took much longer.
