  • Good catch, dude - the eggs were actually stamped with "EB" for the company name. I tried to hide them, but missed this one.

Eggs

First in what will probably be a series of macros of everyday items.

It also strikes me that this would be a fun photo to tinker with in Gimp/Photoshop

Reached top ten 6/27/2006 according to Grundlepunk
#16 when I looked.

Winner: Pic of the Week #25 contest in the DFW Metro community.

Nominated for the The Best: BRAVO Pool.

My first thought from across the room was "Is that a nude? Oh, eggs!"

My wife says men have only one thing on their minds. She does take good pictures though!

Excellent lighting! I love the stark, reflective light contrasted against such beautifully cast shadows in amongst the eggs. A very difficult composition to attempt, at risk of washing out the subject matter but you've avoided that and have created a well-executed, highly aesthetic, abstract compostion! Well-done!

I love the white and the tones. The composition is great too.
Did you pick the whitest eggs that you had?

  14. Zyada (84 months ago | reply)

pabloest - not at all, in fact I barely had enough to fill the bowl! Which was happily almost the same white. Not to mention, the egg company had stamped their logo on every egg so I had to turn every one until the logo couldn't be seen. You can see just the edge of one stamp where I should have scootched the egg just a bit more.

took me ages to decide which photo to comment on on poage 3 of 4 Aces. In the end I settled for this. Amazing how a simple object like an egg can be such an interesting subject for a photo! I'm curious what your series of every day macros will produce...
