This buzzard hung around the Aird Meadow on the RSPB reserve (where I work) one winter. It was a great photographic opportunity for a few weeks, particularly when the weather was wintry as in this photo.
Although still very wary and alert, this particular buzzard was more tolerant of humans than most because it had spent a short time at a nearby wildlife rescue centre. Our photo hide wasn't so busy in those days either, so I doubt if this type of opportunity will occur again. In my (limited) experience, buzzards are much less approachable than say sparrowhawks.
