Iron railway bridge over kallai river

This iron railway bridge was constructed across the kallai river by the British during their rule. It did serve till Indian Railways decided to build a stronger one next to it.

Ruins of Calicut sea bridge

The only few things that still survives a long time is this British built screw pile at Calicut. One end stood close to the customs Bungalow and the other end went as far as 4km into the see in the mid 1800’s. This is the screw pile ‘Kadal Palam’ or sea bridge that remains of it as of today.
