North to South

These beautiful Kashmiri handicraft bags were found hanging outside a souvenir shop, in Thekkady, Kerala. A wonderful coming together of the North and South India.

The Kashmiri boy who was selling these told me that he had been in Kerala for the last 5 years, while his brother had settled down here 20 years ago. A poignant reminder of what terrorism has done to the lives of people in Kashmir valley.

Found on a tree at Cardamom County, Thekkady, Kerala, India.

Cardamom County is a beautiful resort to stay in one of the most beautiful places in Kerala - Periyar (a.k.a. Thekkady). It was a beautiful, sunny day to be in Periyar, and we enjoyed the stay thoroughly.
