project: seating for the apartment

i'm sanding down the bases of these chairs. may leave them bare, but it's looking like they're made out of two different types of wood, so may restain them. going to make slipcovers in a either a sedate grey tweed/felt or a happy colorful pattern. yeah, i'm full of indecision. want to just straight up reupholster them, but the best quote i can get is $175 a chair and that's just tooooo much.
