Santa Claus is alive and well and living (or rather, mostly drinking) in Dublin

The narrow cobbled lanes of auld Temple Bar in Dublin's fair city where our ears are bathed in a cocophony of sound which derive an inner city symphony and combine, quite exquisitlely and uniquely, with the aroma of a hundred kitchens. Rascal residents sup afternoon delight, draw deeply on Old Holborn Shag, talk of what might have been and hope their nag...... finally wins.

Sorry, got a dose of verbal diarrhea.

Time for the medication methinks.

The Art of Celebrity

The Art of Celebrity

Took a trip to Dublin on Sunday and spyed this artists stall.
His paintings were superb and featured celeb's and pop stars of all era's.
My male fav would be David Bowie. A popular-music renaissance man who, in his era, did things with words and music, the like of which was peerless.
Fav' female: Debbie Harry.
She sung "Denise" live on UK TV, about 45 years ago, dressed in only a bikini.....can't remember what her voice was like......

Whose your fav?

Punchestown Racecourse
Dublin.

Trainer: "Listen shorty, do you think you've got it now?"

Jockey: "Yes boss. I take a right at the 2 furlong marker, the second left, up the hill and right."

Trainer: "No man no. How many times....up the hill and LEFT. Look, forget the directions. With your form recently there's gonna be a lot of horses in front of you. From start to finish. So just follow them dammit."

1,020 Channel antidote

1,020 Channel antidote

I was so bored this evening, and fed up with my own infuriating habit of TV channel-hopping, I decided to count the actual number of channels I could watch or listen to. There are 998 viewing channels and 22 radio channels available.
I watch about 5 in total.
What a waste of time and money.
So, having once again got the photographic bug, I leapt up, announced to a rather startled Mrs Z, (who was not used to me handing over the controller to her that early in the evening, not to say the rather unusual event of me venturing out of the house when it's cold and dark.....except to visit the pub) that I was going out with the camera.
No idea where and no idea what was going to happen.
So I ended up in Skerries and shot that windmill (again, I know), but for the first time at night. So thats a new life experience.
It was bloody freezing, but thank God I got off my lazy ass and did something.

* note to self: there actually is a world out there in the freezing dark. Numbnuts.

What a hobby, and only the choice of 2 night settings on the camera.........

Legs Eleven..... Plus

Legs Eleven..... Plus

Well, despite the rumours.....I am alive.
And once again the dust has been blown off the camera, not to say my inspiration, and here we go again. For a more sustained delving into my much loved hobby this time......it says here in my script.
Anyway, Im going to spend this weekend rummaging around all my contacts streams and commenting like a madman. Which is easy for me of course (being a madman).
I hope everyone is bursting with health and look forward, again, to the Flickr fun with much anticipation.

And.....HFF
