Look how high she lifts her head!

Maddy impressed her pediatrician with this move on Wednesday this week. I'm not doing much at all to support her - just providing some balance. Girl's got some KILLER neck control, and ab muscles, too! She'll sit up on my knee like this and just look around. It's so cool.

Today's Positive? I am just so grateful to have such a healthy, strong baby.

My dear daughter, you officially turned 2 months old this Thursday, and what a 2 months it has been! You've grown SO much - from 7lb7oz when you born all the way to 12lb3oz at your pediatrician's visit this week! You're now solidly 95th percentile on height and weight...such a big girl!

You're still amazingly strong, and you impressed your pediatrician with your ability to sit up with very little support. I bet all that time you spend in the carrier helps with that!

You've gotten more talkative this week, cooing back at us when we talk to you. Eye contact is still your favorite thing ever, but you're also starting to notice toys if we dangle them over you, so mama and daddy are working on setting up a little play area for you (in your crib...you almost certainly won't be sleeping in it, so we may as well use it for play!) where you can bat at dangly toys to your heart's content.

This was your first week working at home with mama (instead of just being at home with mama), and we did pretty well together.

We are so, so happy to have you in our lives, sweet girl!

I made the mistake of thinking it was time to go to the wider snap setting on her diaper covers, and boy did we pay the price for that! And I do mean WE. Such a mess. A "new outfits for both of us!" sort of mess. So why am I using this as my positivity project photo for today? Because I'm seriously not even bothered by this stuff anymore. Sure, it's a huge mess to try to clean up when both you and your baby are covered in poo and you don't have any help, but it just is what it is. Shit happens. Sometimes, quite literally.

Today's Positive? Being able to just roll with all of the messes this adorable girl throws at me. This is a new thing for me, really.
