Thanks! My personal site (where this is posted and indexed on Google images) usually gets about 250-700 hits a day. It was hammered with over 20,000 so far. Now I'm just trying to get credit for my photos on the blogs that have ripped it off!

I twittered this photo on Friday - hope that's ok.

..As an Alaskan, what do you think about her? Should I be filled with this creeping sense of dread or not?

First, i'm not a member of either party and regularly vote for people on both sides of the aisle. That said, she has been a strong and capable leader of the state. I have incredible respect for her ethics. She genuinely pushes for what she believes is in the public's best interest. All Alaskans will receive a $1,200 check (even children) to help offset high energy prices (On top of our check from the state referred to as the Permanent Fund - combined all Alaskans are looking at about $3,300 in the next two weeks.) Talk about a stimulus check. She battled for higher taxes on the oil companies and won. She's pushing to lower the price of a business license in the state. She even vetoed a bill that would have barred the state from extending benefits to same sex couples - not because of her position (she's opposed to that) but because the attorney general warned her that it was unconstitutional. So she followed the law instead of her conviction. That's a good leader. Regardless, i doubt that they'll end up with my vote. If she were running for gov again she'd have it though.

Oh - and yes - thanks for twittering it!

"She follows the law rather than her conviction." And what will her "conviction" convince her to do if she were to become vice president? Help alter the constitution to make discrimination legal?

Ms. Palin scares me and her stand on every social issue is diametrically opposed to mine, so the McCain-Palin ticket will not be getting my vote.

If convictions were all it took to be a good president, George Bush would have done a better job, eh? People say he has strong convictions, too, right. I think it matters WHAT those convictions are, more. There are plenty of great leaders out there that wouldn't lead the country in the direction I would like it to go...

Great picture, though, what is the background on this?

basykes - Fortunately the Vice President can not change the constitution. Judging by the probably outcome form the elections in November the House and Senate will retain a majority by the Democrats.

Paula - Click on the link in the photo description for a bit of background on the photos floating around of Sarah with Vikings.
