History is no closed book

    In 1686 the french historian Antoine Varillas wrote Histoire des révolutions arrivées dans l'Europe. Some 300 years later i bought the first volume of this book in a used bookstore in Tours (France). It's the oldest book in my library.

      pitty enough my french is not that good, but yes it 's great to read some passages :) And yes turning the pages and seeing these beautiful fonts is already a great pleasure, besides the knowledge of time ... !

      Heb je de google link in mijn beschrijving gevolgd. Het is toch wel fraai om de binnenkant ook te zien. Het lettertype en zo. En in de downloadbare pdf zie je mooi de kleuren van de binnenkant van de kaft. Die had ik hier (nog) niet meegenomen. Mooi excuus voor nog een serie :D
      Ja , het is echt een hebbeding. Ben er erg blij mee. Het besef dat door je heen gaat als je zo'n boek vast houdt .... dat is zeker niet digitaal te evenaren :)
      Zuiver voor de tekst kan het natuurlijk wel gemakkelijk zijn. Passages opzoeken, bijv.
