Day 49 of 365

I took it in hopes of something more "interesting" than what I got. I tried and tried but never could get what I was "envisioning". So my question is this, I still think its somewhat interesting, not really worthy of a lot of praise, but looking for honest input .. thumbs up or down? I can't honestly tell if I just WANTED to like it so I do, or if it has at least some redeeming qualities to it.

So I asked my husband to pick up some Rainbow Popsicles from the convenience store on his way home tonight after he takes the other kid to guitar lessons. Tomorrow I want to try something similar but with popsicles. Here's to hoping tomorrows photo is better than this one.

Crush. Destroy. Win.

Crush. Destroy. Win.

Day 47 of 365 (366)

this one screams to be viewed large on black .. see it here :)

His shirt may say that, but this is the sweetest most gentle boy you will ever meet. He puts on a good game face though. My poser is back from the church's youth Believe weekend. He's trying to "beef up" since he's pretty small for his age.

Strobist (yes I know I didn't use my new flash):

Oversharpened for a little extra added grit. (since he wasn't sweating for the first time in his life)

This lighting setup makes his eyes look too close together, no?

The 580ex II has arrived

The 580ex II has arrived

Day 46 of 365 (366)

So my flash arrived last night. We took my youngest son to use his Canon camera to take some photos and while we were at it do some test shots with the new flash. I have a lot to learn. This is not the best of them, but it is one I liked the best for personal reasons. I wish he would smile but this will do for now My older son is the poser in the family, but he's off to a church youth group weekend so he's out of pocket. Wes had a BLAST shooting macro all day. He's a lot of fun even if he hates posing for me.

Jump! I might as well jump ... ♪ ♫

Day 45 of 365 (366)

My son is so thin it took a bunch of jumps until you couldn't see the light behind him glaring back at me. Kid got some bounce though doesn't he?! This was about 20 jumps into it, AND he was on his way down.

Strobist:
AB800 with 20 degree grid full power 4 inches directly below and slightly in front of an AB1600 3/4 power with 30 degree grid (the 800 aimed toward his feet and the ground, the 1600 aimed at his body/head area) both directly behind subject approx 8ft behind him (Im' a woman, me and distances aren't too good, so its a ballpark guess)
