      I can't figure out the covered up potatoes either...perhaps they were worried we might brew up some vodka or some Irish poitin (whisky's illicit sister)?

      they spray water on the veggies at night to keep them fresh. Do that to a 'tater and it'll rot.

      They cover things up on this side of the atlantic too but they usually do that *after* the store has closed. :)
