I do miss the Hoh Rain Forest. I really need to get back up there. I have never been in a forest quite like this one.
I had a busy day yesterday and am still mentally a bit drained. I lectured on the Alternative Processes panel during Newspace's SPE conference and followed that up with a three hour field trip for my Fundamentals class. Just two weeks left on that, it always seems to go so fast. And now a week from this Wednesday I will be lecturing at the Portland Art Museum as part of their Brown Bag Lecture series, which is free and open to the public. (Lecture starts at noon). So processing everything I said yesterday, didn't say anything I regretted and were remarkably few things I regret not being able to say, so I think both were nice successes. Now putting together my lecture for the museum. So I decided to go with an image that didn't require too much deeper thought than this this morning.
I think it may have been these images I made in the Hoh and this trip specifically that started my whole mini-series of forests. After being here, I never looked at trees quite the same, or rather, large gatherings of trees.
