Japanese Maple

Japanese Maple by Zeb Andrews.
This shot is the result of a double exposure, one exposure properly focused, the second far out of focus with a shallow depth of field. This is the famous Japanese Maple tree in Portland's Japanese Gardens.

Hey thanks all, I have to admit I did not think this shot would be so popular, though I do like it myself. I appreciate all the comments. Nice to know something of yours can inspire others to make such images themselves.

@metakephoto: Yeah, I have used this technique a few other times. I will load a couple of other pictures eventually, will try to remember to let you know when I do. This I think is the best result so far though.

@Josh Cretien Photography: I shoot with a Nikon FM2N, which is an older all-mechanical film SLR and prime Nikkor lenses. The film for this shot was Velvia 50 slide film. Though I use a variety of different films depending on subject and my mood.
