My sister's son at his confirmation event. This was shot to document a family event, but I found the sunlight playing on the rose look so good, I made more processed version of this :-).

Portrait session with Satu in Laajasalo.

I am trying to learn to take portraits and to use off-camera flash, and Satu was kind enough to model for me at sunrise :-).

Strobist: LumiPro LP160 through umbrella camera right, model front.

She's wearing the headpiece of a samba costume she designed and made for herself.

The light was provided by Canon 380EX Speedlite attached to a camera tripod with ball bungee and triggered by Cactus V5 wireless triggers. Cropped, removed dust from lens, adjusted color temperature and increased brightness and contrast on Photoshop.

Often when I run across cool weather effects, I only have compact or phone camera.. But this time I was fully equipped with tripod, DSLR, couple of lenses, flash and tripod!

When I arrived the Mätäoja riverbank, the Sun had started to set and lots of mist was raising from the river to the fields near it. I shot like crazy, as the mist and sunset sky kept changing for the approximately 30 minutes it took for colors to completely vanish from the clouds. This is first part released from that series.

Combined from 3 identical exposures in ALE to get more dynamic range, tonemapped in Luminance HDR, combined and post-processed in Photoshop.
